Dear MuMin:

 

I've been watching the transits, through Jyotish now, every day for over 17 years now, and

I have to say that Saturn's transit over any reality in one's chart, is very significant.

 

It may be that Jyotish's fixation on the Saturn and the Moon stems from it's habit of looking

at the Stars through the Moon.

 

However, this is one of the areas of Jyotish that I think is not quite correct.

 

For example when you watch the stars, it becomes fairly clear that the Sun is the most important Astrological reality.

 

Everything follows the Sun. It's gravitational field is so emmense that it's rays and affects

are the predominant reality in the entire solar system.

 

In this, I tend to agree more with the Western system that is more 'Sun' oriented.

 

However, the Western emphasis on the Sun, which then tends to ignore the Moon and the Lagna realities, too is not real enough.

 

In reality, all three have a very powerful place.

 

This is one reason why I've formulated this concept of Nature's Astrology.

 

Especially because Jyotish has become so entrapped in it's notion of fate and pre-determinism.

 

Thank God, for creating the Western psychology which doesn't believe so exclusively in fate and instead believes, as we do in the states.... " that any young person can grow up to be President. "

 

That notion is almost heresey in the East, and yet it's really true that each one of us has such great potential which can be unfolded if we would only try.

Hi Mark,

 

Thanks for the input...but we have to remember not to go too far

afield with this thing.

 

Sade Sati works most effectively on the Moon and Lagna because, well,

they are the two most sensitve areas of the chart. While it's true

that Saturn bearing down on the Sun can be a " downer " it's not the

same as when its doing that to the Lagna or Moon.

 

Besides, if you're not careful, you can end up applying this

principle to just about everything in the chart, and as you must know

very well, anything that explains everything in the end explains

nothing - something that we must not follow our more pop psychology

oriented Western astrologer friends into. Let them do that, it's

their bag.

 

Being clear in our vision, precise in our thinking, accurate in our

predictions, should be ours.
