Thank you for the quick analysis of my chart. However, I am rather

very new to this and dont seem to understand the connections ...the

way you put it. I first have to know which planets which house and

then understand the vocabulary being used. And then figure out

whether it really applies to me or not. Long way to go.

Can you tell me how you got your knowledge of this science. If you

have approached books. Please suggest me one so that I can borrow

from the library (for the basics) and try to understand it and

possibly get some clarifications.

 

Mark I know you are coming up with a book too. But you should have a

referrence too can you suggest one.

Dear Durga,

 

I'm sorry and apologize for the confusion from my post. I wanted to be sure to point out basically that Jupiter and Sun could be considered as well when doing propitiation and the reasons why, and thought these important - enough to write about.

 

I am learning Jyotish. Jyotish is a deep and continuing study and I am only a student.

 

I'm constantly reading books and learn from the generosity and guidance of those more experienced. Seems we have to actually do charts to really learn and these forums provide great opportunity for that and then the discussion of these charts.

 

Two really great books are "Light on Life" by Hart de Fouw and Robert Svoboda, and "Vault of the Heavens" by Ernst Wilhelm. There are many others as well. For myself these two are must haves and give some of the depth of Jyotish as well as clarity in learning at a fundamental level. I continue to study and read "Light on Life" all the time and also continue to refer to "Vault of the Heavens" as well, and am always returning to sure up my own learning of basics as well as learning more complicated/involved but valuable techniques.
