dear Taubis:

I loved your letter regarding you, your son, and your use of Astrology.

I think this is one of the best benefits of Astrology, which is to help us all grow within the constraints of our charts.

I think, also, it can only help, knowing he and you have the charts that you do.

Not knowing can be a curse, where you don't realize what each person is bringing to the dinner table.

Knowing allows for better understanding and what I believe to be, true parenting, in the direction of Nature herself, which lives Astrology.

How's he doing today, a day when Moon's returned to being in conjunction with Saturn, again.

Each month it happens again for about 2 1/2 days.

His Moon/Saturn conjunction is partly about you, but it's mostly about him.

The Moon's in our charts are mostly about 'our' relationship with our Mothers.

That's why 6 different siblings can all have different Moon's in their charts, and all, have the same Mothers.

Their, relationships with her is expressive by the different Moon's in their charts.

So, don't worry so much. He's meant to grow in his relationship with you. The fact that you recognize and are interested in helping him, indicates he's got a great mom.

Moon/Saturn together, often represent this feeling of seperation from mother, from especially the child's side.

I have Moon/Saturn together in my 12th house, and I often felt my Mother wasn't there for me.

Now I realize she was, I just didn't feel it.

It's only since I learned Astrology that I realized 'that' was my karma, and as I sought to be closer with her, and/or the Moon, .... that that quality started going away.

Also, don't forget the Moon represents 'our' emotions or emotional nature, our 'relationship' with our Mother's...and eventually,....God, as the Mother,....

where Sun represents,....our selves, our relationship with Father,....and eventually, God, the Father....

Hope this helps....

Sincerely,

Mark Kincaid

Hi -

I've always worried about this aspect in my son's natal chart.  He has a moon/saturn conjunction in the 2nd in gemini in opposition to a loose pluto-mars conjunction in the 8th in sagittarius.  I've long heard the controlling, manipulative mother stereotype linked to the moon opp. pluto and always try to be aware that I may have this tendency.  I can see it at times and I don't know whether knowing it is a good or bad thing.  Sometimes in the midst of disciplining my 3 1/2 year old very loud, assertive leo sun/ aries asc/ gemini moon - I can feel myself play into that controlling role and get into power plays with him - I have tried to lately quit that - but heck he's 3 1/2!! You know how those 3 1/2 year olds like to test your boundaries!!  In other ways I think it's useful to not be able to deny the tendency and deal with it before he gets older.  On the plus side he has his leo sun and leo mercury in the 5th and a venus/jupiter conjunction in cancer inthe 3rd, which I believe tempers his mars/pluto and aries rising.  He's very strong willed and assertive and at times aggressive - I'm constantly trying to censor " fighting " images from him because he seems to be so stimulated by these images and wants to imitate them - he also gravitates more toward males in the fighting or aggressive role, but toward females and animals he's surprisingly gentle and charming.
