Guest guest
Do The Outer Planets Get A Boost From Their Own Houses??? 12:13 PM 1/3/2005 Mon Although you do see this mentioned from time to time, not much is made of the notion of planets being in their own natural House in Western Astrology. The concept IS mentioned quite a bit within Vedic Astrology; there, it is known as Karaka Bhavo Nashto, literally, " the siginficator destroys the House " . The whole idea is that if a planet that is the natural ruler of something sits in a House which governs the same thing, the " ruled " is harmed by a sort of " too much of a good thing " principle. So, Jupiter in the 5th is not considered good from a Vedic standpoint, for the children; Venus in the 7th, is viewed as great for the spouse or relationships overall; the Moon in the 4th is not considered good for the health and well being of the Mother, and the Sun in the 9th is not a good thing for the Dad. My question becomes - what about the Outer Planets in Western Astrology?-when they sit in the Houses they naturally rule? Do they get a " boost " in terms of what they represent intrinsically, for good or ill? Or does it mean anything at all? In my own observation, I have seen charts where Neptune is in the 12th and it does seem to bring an extra " stamp " of all things Neptunian, right or wrong. Same with Uranus in the 11th - not only are the " love needed " concerns ranking high on the list of personal priorities, but there seems to be a very strong need for that to be within the context of group dynamics. I have Pluto in the 8th in my Western chart (that's if you're using Placidus Houses) and clearly, my interests, experiences and so on reflect that vibe. Pluto in the 8th often correlates to a strong interest in psychology or metaphysics (of which astrology is a part) or both, along with the usual suspects - death, sex, taboo subjects in general, etc. All of this has certainly been the case for me. The reason why I singled out the Outer Planets is because, being as powerful as they are, I thought their presence in their natural Houses in the chart would be very noticable. But I leave that up to you. Do The Outer Planets Get A " Boost " When In Their Own Houses??? What do you think/say? Salaam, Mu
