Guest guest
Concerning Scott Peterson... 2:14 PM 12/28/04 Tue Hi All, As you know, Scott Peterson was recently convicted of the crime of murder both of his wife, Laci Peterson, and their unborn son, Connor; in fact, the US Congress has passed what is known as the " Laci and Connor Law " that penalizes further anyone who kills a pregnant woman along with her unborn child - a move that no doubt will throw fuel on the fire on the upcoming Congressional and Judicial fight over Abortion. Keep in mind, that while Scott Peterson was found guilty, all of the evidence presented against him was purely circumstantial - no witnesses were on the scene, no murder weapons found - but, there was evidence that Peterson was engaged in an affair, etc. Although I have not followed the case with great interest, as soon as first heard about it, I instantly thought of this man's 7th Houses (Western and Vedic) as highly problematical, to even be in such a situation in the first place. Seems my instincts were spot-on. Scott Peterson Oct 24 1972 9.36am PDT San Diego, CA; Plac 2 Sag 57/Lahiri 9 Sco 29; Rodden AA. Some of you may recall my comments regarding the 11th House sometime back; I had suggested that a person having a strongly accented 11th, while at the same time having a problematic 7th, could lead to infidelity. Peterson's Western chart aptly demonstrates this principle - note the Sun, Mars and Uranus all in the 11th, with Mars and Uranus in conjunction. The conjunction greatly intensifies the " love needed " concerns for Peterson, and any woman he got with would have to be able to " measure up " in this regard. The 7th House, on the other hand, is very, very problematic - note that not only is Saturn in the 7th and Rx (calling attention to the strong likelihood of a problematic state of affairs with Scott's parents that spilled over onto him; note Venus in the 10th, Neptune rising in the Asc, ruling the 4th; Saturn and Neptune form a Quindecile along the 1-7 axis - ouch!), but it is also square Venus in its worst Sign position, Virgo. This suggests to me that the likelihood of sexual incompatibility between Scott and Laci was very high, along with emotional coldness (in either direction or both), possible control/power struggles, etc. Laci might have been a great wife, but perhaps she could not (or refused to be) the " whore in bed " that Scott wanted? If that remark strikes some of you as a bit strong, consider the fact that, in Scott's Midpoint Sort, he has the picture Pluto=Venus/Mars! A very powerful signal that his sexual interests and drive is way beyond the norm...and such a person should always be paired up with someone who has the same planetary alignments. I don't have Laci's chart, but I'm almost certain, based on what I see here, that she didn't have anything close. Neptune rises in the Asc for Scott...opposed the Moon which is conjunct the Dsc from the 6th. This aspect further inflates the already strongly problematic 7th House - and it further suggests that Scott wouldn't be above creepin' to get his sexual and emotional needs met. Scott's Vedic chart confirms much of what his Western chart " says " - Saturn again is in the 7th, actually one of the worst House placements for the ringed planet. This is because Saturn is naturally inimical to marriage and only the most mature, detached people can handle its energies constructively. If the marriage is focused on the ideals and themes of responsibility, duty and unselfishness, things can go very well; if, on the other hand, more self-serving interests dominate, things can only go along badly. People with Saturn in the 7th House would do well to wait until after their first Saturn Return to marry, when they have gained some life experience, understand themselves and their desires and interests, and have the maturity necessary to embark on something as important as marriage. Scott Peterson was born in the year 1972, and I believe he was married either right before or during his Saturn Return. Not good. Aditionally, the Moon now joins Saturn in the 7th House, giving rise to what is known as Punarbhu. Punarbhu is formed whenever the Moon and Saturn are in aspect and one of them either lies in or rules the 7th House, and this goes for both the birth Ascendant/Lagna and the 7th from the Moon. Although Punarbhu orginally was applied to females, these days it can be equally applied to both genders, and usually registers as an intended marriage being suddenly broken off - either by the native him/herself, or the partner, or by circumstances beyond either of their control. If indeed the native or the partner breaks it off suddenly, it be as a result of fears (Saturn) cropping up in the person's mind (Moon) as the reality sinks in of the gravity of the decision they are about to make (Saturn again); they then get scared and break it off. It is highly likely that Scott got married and then, realizing the weight of what he had done, wanted out. On top of that, Venus, the 7th lord in his Vedic chart, lies in Leo, its enemy sign, and is at the last degree, a very weakened state. Venus then is in the 12th House from Scott's Lagnesh Mars, giving rise to Kuja Dosha, to dreaded Affliction of Mars. Although this is a weaker variant of the combination auguring marital misery and strife, in this case it is stronger than normal because of the Houses that these planets rule - Venus, the 7th, and Mars, the 1st. These lords being in a 2/12 relationship highlights the fact that they were greatly incompatibile, particularly and most likely in the sexual area; Scott may have felt continually " let down " by Laci in this regard (the 12th House being one of losses and disappointments). Had not Punarbhu existed in the chart to begin with, this Kuja Dosha might not have made that much of a difference in the long run - but with it, along with the 7th lord weaknesses (which also can suggest an ill wife, even early death) Kuja Dosha only inflames all of the 7th House difficulties. This horoscope case study should be a lesson to all fledgling jyotishis, that Kuja Dosha, like anything else in a chart, rarely will operate in isolation; other corroborating factors must also be there to activate it. The more you see 7th House difficulties in a chart aside from Kuja Dosha itself, the greater chance that Kuja Dosha, if there in the chart, will magnify those difficulties. Even if Laci were not killed, it is hard to see this marriage being a blissful one, UNLESS she too had such majro difficulties. Her death however, suggests that she did not. Some more seasoned jyotishis may argue for the 7th House Moon's exaltation; that it would (or should) have given Laci some measure of protection. If this is indeed their argument, that fail to consider a major factor - that the Moon's dispositor, Venus is greatly weakened. Any ability of the Moon to bring any good benefit to Laci was dashed. And this brings yet another key principle to light when dealing with exalted planets in Vedic Astrology - that one must not only pay attention to the body of a planet (the sign its in) but also to its soul as well (that planet's dispositor). Especially with exalted planets, because to do otherwise is to give an analysis on a very false premise (the planet looks great but in actual reality, it is not). Checking the Navamsa we see that Punarbhu again rears its ugly head, and Venus is associated with two malefics, Rahu and the Sun. Neither of these findings bode well for longterm relationship happiness for Scott Peterson. Lastly, note that Scott entered his Ketu Dasa in Jan 2000; it would be over until Jan of 2007, when Venus Dasa takes over. Ketu is in Scott's 8th House - of scandal, secrets, and dishonorable deeds like adultery and possible murder. The Nodes, Rahu and Ketu, are the most difficult planets to understand in Vedic Astrology; they represent uncontrollable forces or urges that compel us to do, think and say things that we may not ordinarily under different circumstances. During their Dasas, they can bring both great and terrible results, depending on how and where they are placed in the chart. In the modern context, the Nodes have a close alliance with Psychology, and it would do those who have Nodally dominated charts - like Peterson - well to thoroughly understand their urges, needs and behaviors. It's so very sad to see such a waste of life on all sides here; if only Scott and/or his wife had consulted a competent astrologer (Western or Vedic) there perhaps might have been a different outcome than the one we all know now.
