Dear Friends/Nature's Astrology...

I thought you might like to receive this fascinating.... email, discussion regarding the importance of 'Jyotish Remedies'...

Mark Kincaid

Dear Raoji: & All:

This is a very fascinating and I believe very important part of 'true' Jyotish.

I know what Dr. Chowhary means when he says:

" What is the use of feeding crows and

wearing a sapphire when you ill-treat your old parents

at home? Any remedy that does not bring about a

gradual change in consciousness cannot be really

beneficial in the long run. The only true remedy is a

change of consciousness as all problems

There is this kind of powerful shift of Jyotish going on in the World today.

When I first started studying Jyotish, over 16 years ago, every book you'd pick up, would have 195 pages about the 'Jyotish', and then, at the end, almost like an after thought, would be only 5 pages of 'Jyotish remedies'.

But, there is this powerful shift of Consciousness going on in the World today.

In fact, much of this new 'movement' has been lead by some of the Great, Yogis, of the Vedic tradition.

I'll mention just two. Swami Yogananda of the famous Autobiography of a Yogi, is one, who said in his book: " Find me the worst day in my upcoming year, (through my chart), and on that day, I will accomplish anything! "

I just love this expression, because it really begins to speak to the real power of life, is the Soul, or Consciousness, as previously referred to.

The 2nd, great Yogi, some may be aware of is the famous Guru of Transcendental Meditation, fame; His Holiness, Maharishi Mahesh Yogi.

Now, after over 35 years of bringing out wave after wave of every imaginable Vedic Science, 'we' in the West, are beginning to see a much different Veda, then, what was 'there' before.

The Maharishi, in fact, has explained this in this way:

" In Vedic Science, is the Knowledge and Wisdom of the Total Potentiality of Life.

What's been there in India, for many, many generations has been only the remnants of this great Knowledge.

What has happened is a great Loss of Knowledge, but now, as in the past, we are witnessing a 'Revival' of the purity of this ancient Knowledge. "

Personally, I've been watching myself, since the early 1970's, the Maharishi, bring out, and renew, Yoga, and Meditation, Yaguas, Ayurveda, Stapatyaved, and even Jyotish.

This 'change', in Jyotish has begun and the importance and place of 'Remedial Measures', is at the very heart of this huge, transformation in the entire field of Jyotish.

Personally, my own, particular research in Jyotish has been how can we improve this aspect of Jyotish.

We could start by 1) Realizing that it's indeed possible to change and improve ourselves, and even, our Charts...

2) My own particular insight into Jyotish, concerns the 'Malefic Planets', in our Charts.

I've realized that not only, are our Malefics, indicative of where our problems, challenges, set-backs, and griefs, will be....

they're also symbolic of where our Changes, and improvements are supposed to be!

For example if we've got a malefic Mars, and it indeed, is giving us accidents, and fights, quarrels, and the gamet of Mars related consequences...

think for a moment, how we might consider, our Malefic Mars, not as just symbolic of our problems, but.... also...

symbolic of the need to improve our Mars!

In Ayurved, Mars is identified by the word 'pitta'. In fact, when you go to a Vaidya, he feels your pulse and says... " ahhh, your pitta is out of balance, and that's why you're having accidents, and fights and quarrels.... "

He then, goes to prescribe some very specific and powerful, remedies for balancing that 'pitta' energy which include things like teas and herbs, even behavioral 'rasayanas' are suggested for such an improvement.

I've realized this is a great attempt at really, balancing the Mars, within us.

Jyotish, then, may be something like a kind of Vedic Psychology....where Ayurved may deal more with the body, and it's rhythms and cylces.

In Jyotish, we can see exactly, where and how, the Mars, is being Malefic.

If it's in the first House, that 'pitta' or 'fiery', imbalance is leading us to go too fast, and be too aggressive, or rash.

When we have our Charts 'done', or 'read', a good Jyotishee, should be able to say....

" You can get your Mars under control! "

First, it's important to realize that our Mars, is just our Mars thinking and behaving patterns.

Mars represents our thought forms associated with mobility, acting, and thinking.

So, when we contemplate ....'maybe I'm going too fast, or being too high strung, or we say in the West, maybe it's really, 'me', that has a kind of short fuse....'

Then, the quality of fire, or Mars, can indeed begin to change.

Yes, meditation and the development of Consciousness, is also, highly recommended.

However, I've done the charts of many hundreds or 'meditators', and I believe that Jyotish, as an adjunct to Meditation, is a vital, 'Vedic Remedy',....that will help us literally...

transform and improve any and every Malefic situation in our Charts!

I believe we're actually born, to do this!

Only most of the time, that knowledge or perspective has not been available to us....

Thank you for your wonderful discussion about 'efficacy of remedial measures'.

Hope this helps.

Sincerely,

Mark Kincaid

Re: [jyotish-list] Efficacy of remedial measures

Dear Sri Raoji,

Pranam

I have seen Parayana (devout reading) of sacred myth

(divya katha) working upto some extent in some cases.

How and when it works is a subject for long

discussion.

Anyway I prescribe only namasankirtana or chanting of

pauranic mantras which are safe and efficacious,

parayana of sacred myth and genuine sadhana without

asking for anything (nishkama sadhana).

I do not personally approve of costly remedies or even

gem stones. What is the use of feeding crows and

wearing a sapphire when you ill-treat your old parents

at home? Any remedy that does not bring about a

gradual change in consciousness cannot be really

beneficial in the long run. The only true remedy is a

change of consciousness as all problems (as well as

their solutions) spring from here.

Salutations and regards

Satya
