Dear Mark,

Thanks for your insightful reply. Actually I am also doing what you have done after analyzing your horoscope i.e. strengthening Moon. In my case I have debilitated Sani in 8th house. I far as my little bit understanding of debilitated Sani goes it was making me move towards intoxication of different kinds, make me slow. So, what I am doing for last few months is to work on & improve on these aspects of my life.

I have totally given up alcohol, following a strict sattvic diet. I am working hard to become an action-oriented person than the procrastinator that I was. I used feel stressful to breathe during first few days of waning Moon (moon in my chart is in Capricorn-5th house from ascendant, it is getting 10th aspect from Saturn in 8th). So, I have started prayanam. I have also started chanting of mantras.

All this has and is transforming me in positive ways. Earlier I used to get tensed as astrologers used to say you are going to face lot of problems due to malefic + debilitated Sani that too in 8th. Someone might say it is psychological effect. Whatever it is, but it is working for me positvely.

ALL THIS DAWNED ON ME WHEN I STARTED LEARNING ASTROLOGY. So, I feel, instead of arguments on use of astrology if spirituality can cure all ills. Both of these ancient sciences are complementing each other than competing with each other. Aim of both of them is to uplift us spiritually, physically and materially also.

>>>>>>I have a Guru who said one time, "Don't take your charts seriously like they're written in stone. They're just the state of your Physiology at the time of birth."Over the years I have found this statement very insightful and unique. Instead of thinking our charts are only about our 'fate', I believe it's a very profound insight into human and Cosmic Nature, that life can be improved.

Great, great, great insight to uplift human beings is available in these lines. I think we can call both astrology and spirituality as paths to the journey to become Purushottam (Best in Men). Re-orientation of this spiritual yantra (machine) we call as human beings, is the easy way to move upwards on the purushottam axis.

Positive re-orientation in all aspects of life whether it is food, way we think, interact with ourselves in mind as well as with the world etc.

I am looking forward your thoughts on this.

Warm Regards

Mark,(You said)...."Don't take your charts seriously like they're written in stone. They're just the state of your Physiology at the time of birth."Are you suggesting that horoscopes are the blue print at the time of birth and a person can change his fortune totally! I wonder what is the point in reading charts if spirituality can enable a person to change his course of life ?Please enlightenRegardsSanjay C.Dear Friends/ at Natures Astrology....Here is another follow up to this previous discussion regarding improving ourselves through our charts.Mark K.Dear Sanjay:Very good question. My Guru says, "If we could not change the dangers on the horizon, it would rather be better that we not even know."I'm suggesting that our Charts are not only the blueprints as to what

we've come to 'face', or our 'conditionings', or 'fate',...but....our charts are also about our 'Opportunities', our areas of Growth, and even 'transformation'...This idea is very new to Indian Jyotish, because, also, as my Guru suggests, "Indian culture has been in a great loss of Knowledge related to all Vedic Knowledge for many generations. As a result, meditation has become thought to be hard, and the path of enlightenment also very difficult, or only for the renunciates, path of life."In the West we haven't had the benefits of any real Vedic Wisdom, but...we believe in growth and transformation. In fact, in the United States, we have a saying....."Any young person, boy or girl, can grown up to be President!"This is a great belief in the power of transformation, regardless of your background, or humble beginnings...Like that, yes,...I believe there's an entire Universe, of All Possibilities, waiting for each one of us!Our

Jyotish charts, are great for helping us understand what and how we came into this life....But, we have the potential to far 'transcend' our Charts...and discover.... the great power and potential of Human life... which is Unbounded, Eternal and Immortal....The Self, after all, is far beyond the boundries, or limitations of any and every personality, or individuality, or of any Jyotish chart...Ujala, you also said:

I wonder what is the point in reading charts if spirituality can enable a person to change his course of life ?I believe the purpose of Jyotish, is to help us, where we're stuck. For example, I, personally, know many 'meditators' who are on the path, learning and growing in many powerful ways....but....they too can benefit from knowing their charts. Many of these non-Jyotish meditators, though their life is improving tremendously, still...if they could come to understand and learn some of the lessons of the details of their Jyotish charts....then, their, too, lives would dramatically improve...I'll give you an example...I'd been meditating for many years before I discovered Jyotish. And believe me, I had grown sooooo much both emotionally and in terms of self-confidence.But, when I began to study Jyotish, I discovered that still, one of my weaknesses, was a Moon in the

12th House, with a raja yoga, Sani, while the Sun was in my 11th house, (ie. a very small Moon)....That helped me understand #1) why I had suffered with so much loneliness, and sadness, and shyness in my life...And though meditation had improved that tremendously, when I started studying Jyotish, myself, I discovered that I could in fact, improve, individually, the Moon! For example, every day, the Moon is Waxing and/ or Waning. After watching these 'transits' for a number of months, it occured to me, 'wow, this is the cycle of the Moon, getting bigger and getting smaller. Later I realized this represents a very powerful, very important 'cycle' of rest and activity for our entire World.Well, it didn't surprise me that I had a very great lack of appreciation of the importance of balance or cycles, in life...with a Saturn in my 12th house...In fact, I hated going to bed 'on time', and didn't appreciate how important that was

.....After awhile, I realized that, by studying or watching the Moon transits, I started to spontaneously, feel and 'be' more intune with their gyrations...This immediately,...started making me 'feel' stronger...and again, after more time, I saw that my emotions or feelings, in other words, my very Moon was getting strengthened by this one insight, gained from my chart...I hope this helps, answers your question.Sincerely,Mark Kincaid
