I am a new member and a novice in the study of Vedic Astrology. I had my chart prepared by

a very detailed computer program, but have yet to learn the art of interpretation. What is the significance of planets in "Infancy" and "Old Age"?

Thanking you in advance.

A planet in any Rashi/Sign within 1 to 5 degrees is called infancey.

A planet in any sign withing 25 to 30 degrees is called old age.

In both cases the planet is considered weak

Hi Linda,

A planet in its infancy is in the early degrees of a sign while a planet in

old age is in the latest degrees of a sign. I think this is set at about 5

degrees. These planets are said to be weak in their expression. But (in my

experience) if these planets happen to be near an equal house cusp, they

will be much stronger acting in the life. The infancy/old age concept has

probably never really been tested.
