Star Wisdom Research Initiative

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The five members of this initiative actively pursue research into a new Star Wisdom – including the fields of Astronomy, Astrology, and Astrosophy – as a Christ-centered discipline emerging out of Anthroposophy. We consider new Star Wisdom as the revelations of divine beings in the cosmos interweaving with free human beings. Our work streams from Rudolf Steiner’s spiritual scientific research into Esoteric Christianity and the new mysteries. We take very seriously Rudolf Steiner’s task to bring scientific understanding of the laws of reincarnation and karma, in the light of the Christ events, to modern human beings. Within Anthroposophy, we seek redemption and renewal of ancient mystery traditions of Astronomy and Astrology as borne by the Magi from the East and passed on through Hermetic traditions, transformed into new inner faculties of Intuitive spiritual perception required to develop a living Astrosophy.

 

 

We seek to build upon the work of Elisabeth Vreede(1) and Willi Sucher, who enthusiastically took up and built upon Rudolf Steiner’s insights into Star Wisdom. Elisabeth Vreede (1879 – 1943), the brilliant mathematician and close pupil of Rudolf Steiner chosen by him in 1924 to found and head the Mathematical-Astronomical Section of the School for Spiritual Science, distinguished between Astronomy, Astrology, and Astrosophy with these words:

The knowledge of the universe ascends through three degrees: from Astronomy to Astrology, and from Astrology to Astrosophy. But every one of these realms of knowledge is today more or less bewitched. Astronomical science is devoid of spirituality, but must once again be permeated with it. Astrology preserves an ancient spirituality that no longer has the same value for our own times. True Astrosophy is at present surely not to be found outside Rudolf Steiner’s spiritual science. Astrosophy is at one and the same time the goal of an anthroposophical science of the cosmos and its starting point.(2)

Willi Sucher(3) (1902 – 1985), one of Elisabeth Vreede’s collaborators, worked through many of her insights and made his own significant discoveries between 1927 and 1985, pioneering new approaches toward Star Wisdom. His 58 years of research produced results that are breathtaking in sweep and originality. Much of Willi Sucher’s work (now housed at the Astrosophy Research Center in Meadow Vista, California) is available in published form.(4) Four of the five members of the Star Wisdom Research Initiative had the good fortune to work with Willi Sucher from the 1970’s until his death in 1985, and continue to honor Willi Sucher as mentor and guide in striving to develop a new Star Wisdom.

Members of the Star Wisdom Research Initiative do not practice “astrology” in the modern sense of elaborating personality traits from birth charts and predicting the future. Rather, we strive to awaken the human being’s relationship with divine beings, to help quicken awareness of prenatal intentions, and to shed light on the themes and rhythms of human life, and to do so in complete confidence and protection of individual freedom. We encourage each person to find her or his life path and to exercise her or his free will. Consultations are thus an educational process. In seeking to develop a new Star Wisdom, we research such topics as:

 

Reincarnation patterns and karmic tasks of human individualities throughout repeated earth-lives - the spiritual province of Angels;

Karmic destinies of groups and civilizations - the spiritual weaving of the Archangels;

Correlations between star events and earthly events as guided by the Spirits of Time - the Archai, and in particular with Michael, the Sun-spirit;

Relationships between the spiritual hierarchies, the Zodiac and planets, the formation of our solar system, and the nature and evolution of the human being on Earth - the spiritual workings of Exusiai, Dynamis, Kyriotetes, Thrones, Cherubim, and Seraphim, in service to the Trinity;

Connections between all these areas of research and the deeds of Christ, as revealed to humanity through Sophia.
