Guest guest
Shripal, The interesting thing about the twelfth house IMHO, is its strength due to the rising Sun and the promise of the day ahead. Early Egyptian symbology placed Jupiter " about 12 to 20 degrees above the horizon " as its symbolic home. Furthermore, Jupiter's Egyptian name , when rising in the East, was " The Abundant Provider. " As such, in my studies I equate Jupiter with the age of 36 to 42. . . a period when a person becomes " self reflective " (Indicated by sunset planets crossing into the 12th at the time) and a general " renewal " or transformation becomes evident. I consider this period as " Getting to know one's God within " and making choices for the personal future from that inner reflection. Gauquelin Sector's places the 12th in high regard as well. Guest guest
Shirpal ... This is the 12th house in a nutshell! Excellent article. It's what I've thought all along. I've always noticed that when someone has Sun in 12th they need to lead, but they seem to be oblivious to the fact that they're trying to be a leader. A lotta times they turn people off by being " bossy " . Note that several presidents have had 12th house Suns. I have Uranus (and Moon) in 12th. I wonder if I'm like the guy in the article. Many times I've had people react to me as though they thought I was " weird " and I don't know why. I don't feel as though I am, and this is how the 12th functions ... we're not aware of things about ourselves that are perfectly obvious to others. That's why it's considered to be the house of self destruction or self deception ... we just don't see what's going on there till it's too late. .... It is the house of the risen Sun. They are very powerful, although the person may be strangely oblivious to the strength of the influence. An example was a young man with Uranus in Leo in the 12th. He had a very charismatic manner; his style of dress and haircut were distinctly different. He once asked me if he looked weird because he wanted to appear normal and fit in, or so he thought. I suggested he take a good, hard, long look in the mirror and then think about getting a new hair cut and different clothes. He gave all sorts of rationalizations why that would not work and continued to look weird while convincing himself he looked just like anybody else. Had Uranus been in his first house, he would have put much conscious attention on cultivating a dramatically different personality image. He would have wanted to look weird. The seat of the collective unconscious is the 12th. It is from there that the archetypes can enter and overtake the personality. Archetypes are universal principles or energies. As mythic figures, they reveal inherent psychological processes embedded deeply in the collective psycho-mythology and work throughout the human species. They are neutral, yet to the degree an individual or a society represses, suppresses, or denies them, they become good or evil, angelic or diabolic. The material we store in the 12th, the unconscious, may be unacceptable because of trauma or conditioning and because it threatens the persona. It is the underside, the dark side, and the hidden part of the person. What we try to hide and deny to ourselves is often apparent to everybody else - like the emperor’s new clothes. Our hidden enemy, obvious to everyone but ourselves, is, more often than not, ourselves. ---------------------- so from above planets in 12th house doesn't seem to be that bad,as this is a Kalyuga,So this things does help.Total astrology analysis ha to be changed,World has becom a strange place to live now,It is not a time of parasara. What they have analyzed and wrote was different time,Now it has changes. Some basic rules remains a same. But lots of changes and re-analysis has to be done. Hi... I hadn't seen that article before, but I've been saying for years that the 12th house is a powerful place for planets. Planets there tend to have a compulsion to express themselves. Both Presidents Clinton and Bush had 12th house Suns. No matter what they did, they stood out, and the Sun is the political Star. I don't even think Bush wanted to be president. He was propelled by the party mafia. I have Mercury in the 12th, and I've often felt that Mercury is so strong in my psyche and activities that I hardly have any other planet in my horoscope. By 12th I'm talking the cusp as exactly 30 degrees behind the ascendant, and then the 12th house is 15 degrees on either side of the cusp. So planets beyond 15 degrees would be in the first house. But many house systems will still have them in the first. My Mercury is a degree from semi-sextile the ascendant. Yes, 12th house planets have just risen over the eastern horizon, a powerful place for planets to be. I think a lot of what is written about the 12th house especially in Tropical literature is....pure fiction. Therese
