Godzilla Reloaded - The Original Big Movie Monster

Hi All,

I thought to both go light on the heavy and heavy on the light with

this

one.

Even if you're not a fan, it's damn-near impossible not to know who

Godzilla is. We've all seen at least one movie, and if you're like

me,

you've seen dozens. It was the thing to do growing up - besides,

what

boy doesn't like to see mutant-sized, fire-breathing lizard

creatures

rampaging through a city, tearing it apart limb from limb? Ah, youth.

Well, the original Godzilla film - unedited and uncut - will be

released

for the very first time here in America, this month. In fact,

according

to the official movie site, it was released here in the US on May 7,

2004. I'll get to that event chart in a moment.

Godzilla first came on the scene in 1954 - I'm still trying to track

down an exact release date in Japan - and the original Japanese

version

was much more serious and somber than the Americanized version that

starred a pre-Perry Mason Raymond Burr. Godzilla, like all forms of

art,

was a statement of the times - Japan was still reeling from the war

years, and the effects of atomic radiation. Add to that, the fact

that

the US military was conducting H-bomb tests on the various islands

within Japanese vincinity and you get a very large concern among the

Japanese populace about the horrors of radiation, militarism and so

on.

Godzilla was symbolic of all these things at once - the absolute

power

of the US military, the results of atomic testing gone amok, and so

on.

Why, astrologically, has Godzilla been so hugely popular for so very

long? Well, even without an exact date in '54 we can get a pretty

good

idea. Using the Western system, we see that Jupiter was conjunct

Uranus

in Cancer, always a signal of ultra-popularity (as well as themes of

high-tech stuff, genious, etc.)...and both these planets were square

Neptune, which represents both the movie business as well as

ideology.

And at that time in American life, the whole " Red Scare " was very

real.

If I'm not mistaken, Pluto was in Leo, and still rather high in

declinational degrees...that certainly would speak to the atomic/H-

bomb

concerns.

The re-release American date shows the Sun in Taurus sqaure Neptune

(movies again, perhaps a focus on ideology), with the Moon conjunct

Pluto in Sag (atomic/nuclear energy again). Both are opposed Venus

right

before it goes Rx (major popularity, potential big money maker).

Interestingly, Jupiter is OPPOSED Uranus in this map, a clear echo

of

the conjunction when Godzilla was " born " .

As the USA and the world grapples with international terrorism, and

the

very real threat of nuclear blackmail, Godzilla's re-release reminds

us

all that another nuclear explosion the likes of which was seen in

Japan

during the war years isn't a matter of " if " - but " when " .

Check out the OG - Original Godzilla, and see for yourself.

Salaam,

Mu
