Guest guest
Dear Deb ... I tried running off your chart on my Parashara's light program and according to that, it was not DST in Chicago when you were born. There have been little variations regarding DST throughout the years for God only knows what reason. Could you check on it to make sure? You could probably call a public library in Chicago (or anywhere) and find out for sure what was going on then. Sometimes I wish DST didn't exist! They only invented it to frustrate astrologers! I live in a state that doesn't have DST except on SOME Indian reservations, but not others. Aaaaaarrrrrrrgh! If you were born an hour later than you thought, you'd have 15 degs. Virgo rising. Still with Saturn in 1st. With 11th hs Sun and exalted Moon, also Jupiter in its own sign throwing a full aspect to Saturn. Are you tall and slender? I know about 3 people with around 15 degs. Virgo rising who are .... but I know one who's short and buxom. .... Bettina dqm51 [dqm51]Friday, May 07, 2004 12:34 PM Subject: Sadi SatiOh, I forgot to mention, I am in Saturn Dasha too. Guest guest
I know I must be loosing my mind not giving complete or proper details! I was born in Illinois when the daylight savings time (DST) was an issue on how to report it on the birth certificate. In Illinois at that time the birth on certificate was the actual birthtime even though it was one hour later on the clock beinng DST. I have gotten so use through the yrs giving my birth time at 10:16am DST because most people will automatically correct for DST. BUT in reality I was born standard time 9:14am Chicago. That is what is on my birth certificate. But if you ask my mother she will swear up and down I was born a little after 10am. So, there you go. It proves the birth issue dilemna at the time and the confusion so many people have with accurate birthtime casting for Illinois at that time. I am 5' 4 " and although I was thin as a child and young adult - the yrs have caught up with me along with health issues and I am a little thick in appearance being about 20lbs over weight. I have never had a waist line. Always been angular and because of spine mishape. So waist is almost same as hips and upper. I am so glad you ask to clarify time. Bettina, It does make a difference and also points out other concerns about which anya to use but that is a diffrent post!! Guest guest
Bettina, Oh I'm so glad. It will be great to get your perspective. Also good for Group to compare where are planets are falling with Sadi Sati for comparison and comment. I think too we have alot in commom. Maybe with the Group we can share how are lives as we feel haven't been that different in Sadi Sati although challenging. Do you care to share your birth info? I liked what Mark said too about reflection in regard to where planets are falling now, and Ron's input. Happy Birthday to your husband. Hope he has a healthy, happy year. Guest guest
Hi, Deb. I did the deed. Yes, Saturn's right on your asc. Your Moon is in the same degree as mine, which is a good spot because it's vergottama, meaning it's in the same sign in the navamsa (9th harmonic) as in the natal, making it stronger for what it is, and with it exalted, that's what you want. I think my Taurus Moon has gotten me through some rough spots, because it's basically a happy placement, and I think in tune with nature and the beauty of the physical world. As I said before, Jupiter throws a full asp to your Saturn, which lightens it up some. Neptune is also in 1st, though farther away. Since Saturn is in the sign of a friend (Mercury) and rules the 5th hs, it's not a bad planet for a Virgo asc. There are always trials and tribulations with S rising, particularly in childhood. Were you lonely as a kid? Did you feel like you were on the outside looking in? That's the way it manifested in my life. With the comb. of Neptune in 1st, Moon in 9th, and Merc. cnj Ketu (S. Node) in 12th, you'd have a natural interest in metaphysics, mysticism, and religion. S rising makes a person democratic and fair minded. Racism and bigotry are anathema to you. You apply your spiritual views to life; you want to love the divine in everyone. With Sun in 11th you have a fairly smooth road to accomplishing what you want, or being provided with favorable situations in life, BUT, with Venus ruling 2nd (family) and 9th (father) and placed in 12th with Ketu, I don't think you've gotten a lot of support from those sources. I have an image of someone at a party, mixing and conversing with other people, yet at the same time feeling apart from what's going on and almost seeming to watch it from a distance. That's a metaphor; not to be taken literally. But there's that element of being involved in the world and separate from it, ovserving it; even detachedly observing your own self, at the same time. Here's my data: Oct. 5, 1944 / 22:51 / Providence, RI. The asc sould come out to 14 -15 Gemini. dqm51 [dqm51]Friday, May 07, 2004 9:55 PM Subject: Re: Sadi Sati Bettina,Oh I'm so glad. Guest guest
Dear Bettina, Right On. And More!!! So interesting, especially the Neptune in Virgo with Saturn interpretation. I was very lonely as a child. I felt more than apart. I still do. I often felt and feel like I don't belong and carried the weight of the world on my shoulders. I had a very difficult time in school. It's understandable when one sees my Mercury in 12th hs and Neptune in lst, but I didn't know that then. I often felt I was stupid. But, worse, I often felt like I couldn't explain what I knew. Then got a lot of things mixed up. Still do, even though I try to be very detailed and thorough. I am often misunderstood. In tone and matter. My writing too can be unintentionally misinterpreted in tone. I was the second eldest of eight children. The lst, a sister, died when she was only two hours old. I was born 11 months and one day later. The next, another sister was born 14 months later. The youngest was adopted when I was 14yrs old and she was 5yrs. So, 7 of us living children, nine yrs. apart in age from me being eldest to youngest. I was well taken care of and yet had a lot of responsibility and judgmental expectations from both of my parents. Nurturing wasn't really in the cards. Although, I was loved. Not necessarily liked but loved. I got a lot of attention from my Dad in the way of PMA lectures and aspiring to be more than what I was. I think in some ways he thought me defective and his protégée at the same time. I always got happy hugs from him when I saw him as an adult. And, he would stop by to see me if he was within an hour's drive from my home to visit. I took a great interest in his work and that was a connection for us too. Things have come hard to me all my life and it is agreed by many that I have seen and have had to deal with more than my fair share compared to a lot of others. However, it has made me who I am and has given me tenacity, intelligence and strength that I never thought I had as a child. I have pretty much devoted my adult life to advocacy issues involving children and family matters. You are correct, I hate racism and bigotry. I prefer action over talk. I do not have patience for overly negative critical judgmental people. I detest self righteousness, ultra anything, entitlement and poor excuses. I believe in the humanity of humans and the importance of ones higher level of self & spiritualism. But, I struggle with at times yet understand the full psychology of humanity's coping and survival issues. I can be instigated to be quite passionate both positively and negatively. I believe it's that Mars in 10th with its tendency to be impulsive and ooh – sail me right through the air at times. Sadi Sati which started for me like you in 1998 along with my Saturn Dasha that started in 2000 has brought some interesting twist of events. I still think I am in the first part of Saturn Dasha before it gets better and worse. I don't really have an objective view of my own chart to be able to really figure it out day by day or make any concrete interpretations for the future, but I have a fair over all idea; especially getting through the next few years. I think continual learning Vedic chart delineation will help. I am 5yrs. self taught with some help from those in the know. I find the whole subject fascinating, pretty helpful and accurate if interpreted correctly. I would like to eventually take Vedic and help others over my own desire for transformation. I looked up your chart!! Let's see how close I am. Sensitive yet strong. Your houses are stacked up similar like mine. Self preserving. I can see why you feel much like me that Sadi Sati although challenging isn't that different than other moments in your life. We could probably talk all night and still be at it two days later! Passion, yet interested in others for their value and contribution to society. Fun, dual in interest. Quick. I bet you keep a journal or write. Or keep it in your head. But its there like a running commentary. Yes, I can see where we could be like minded in many ways!!!. I think it is more than your moon that has seen you through. Although, it has helped a lot with some of the rough edges. And, given you a compassion for many things. Often with a direct eye. Stick tuitiveness, and, even though that western planet Pluto is hovering in your 2nd house Cancer with Rahu, with a full aspect of Ketu in Capricorn/SA with that house also being 8th house from ASC. Holy cow! I see that as causing lots of havoc however, instigating more tenacity than giving up. Also because it warmly aspects your 12th hs with moon and your 4th hs with Mercury in own house with Sun, then Neptune too in 4th (that can help with its degree placement), appease, as well as undermine at times family, value and security issues. So lots of topsy turvy but I think you have one heck of a chart that keeps you going! Sadi Sati with Saturn transit on top of lst hse Saturn – with a Saturn – Moon Dasha, aspecting 4th hs. too, ooh. These last few years!! And now Mars there too in transit, mmm! I have only looked at your Rasi and briefly skimmed your navamsa. I did note however, your moon in Taurus, same sign as Rashi! Also, I can't explain as well as you. There is so much more there. I can look at your chart and others and have a sense of know without really knowing. I don't know if that makes any sense but I am not as proficient in Vedic or astrology as you. I sense you have been studying astrology for several years too. Are you self taught? And look at that Jupiter in 3rd hs Leo with its aspects! Boy, would I love to have a long chat with you!! We could turn it into a week fest!!! Happy Mothers Day… Debra p.s. well, if nobody knew us before, they do now!! Enjoy everyone! Is anyone else going through Sadi Sati and feel the same as Bettina and me that we aren't necessarily experiencing that much of a difference compared to how our birthcharts are structured? sorry for the looong post. Guest guest
It was so good to read your post, Debra! Your discription of your childhood sounds a lot like mine; not the family part, but just the way we were regarded and felt about ourselves. I was always sort of a scapegoat and very lonely. I wasn't a particularly good student, but spent a lot of time in existential quandries. You know, trying to figure out what we were all doing here and what was the true nature of God; that sort of thing. I never saw any point in being competitive or ambitious (weak Mars and strong Saturn, I guess). All I wanted was to understand what the heck was going on; like, why does existence exist? Astrology and other metaphysical bodies of knowledge have probably saved me from insanity. And having kids kind of gave me a purpose in life. You said something about writing and that's true. I've kept journals off and on (more off than on) and I write poetry. Also love to correspond, which is why I'm here. One thing's interesting: you mentioned that your parents' first baby (the one right before you) died in infancy. So did my parents' first (the one right before me). I wonder if that makes for a heaviness in our own early lives. Like, our parents couldn't just let go and enjoy us because we too might die, or they were simply still grieving for the first child. I'm relating that to Saturn on our ascs. My dad was also very stern and I got a lot of lectures from him. He was a responsible and dharmic person, but very critical. I could never live up to his standards. By the way; what is a PMA lecture? I think of this life for me as a "problem solving" incarnation. My first marriage was a disaster; my kids have had some problems like learning and emotional disorders, I've had health probs that seemed bad at the time, etc. I just keep it in perspective that that's the way it is now and all one can do is keep on keeping on. I get a lot of happiness from realizing how temporary it all is. Like you, I think I can handle things better than some who've had it easy. BTW, do you have the book Light on Life? I and some others on this board are always touting it. It's the best text for any one who's learning Jyotish. .... Bettina dqm51 [dqm51]Sunday, May 09, 2004 12:19 AM Subject: Re: Sadi SatiDear Bettina,Right On. And More!!! So interesting, especially the Neptune in Virgo with Saturn interpretation.I was very lonely as a child. I took a great interest in his work and that was a connection for us too.Things have come hard to me all my life and it is agreed by many that I have seen and have had to deal with more than my fair share compared to a lot of others. I would like to eventually take Vedic and help others over my own desire for transformation.I looked up your chart!! Let's see how close I am.Sensitive yet strong. We could turn it into a week fest!!!Happy Mothers Day…Debrap.s. well, if nobody knew us before, they do now!! Enjoy everyone! Is anyone else going through Sadi Sati and feel the same as Bettina and me that we aren't necessarily experiencing that much of a difference compared to how our birthcharts are structured?sorry for the looong post.
