Dear Anne:

 

First of all, I don't believe in banning 'anyone' because of their views or opinions. We all have something great to contribute.

 

The only thing I won't accept is personal criticisms, and condemnations towards each other.

 

So, if we can all be amiable we should find that we really learn a lot from each other.

 

I've studied both the Western & the Jyotish,.....

but it was only when I started studying 'Astrology', in the transits, in the every day realities, that a really 'true', 'natural' Astrology became 'alive' for me.

 

Then, I noticed that people themselves, even if they know no 'Astrology' are living their charts, and it was these 2 aspects of natural astrology; transits and people....

 

that lead me to this....'Nature's Astrology'....

 

I believe in this concept, because Nature lives,....Astrology....

 

And I believe by studying 'Nature's Astrology'....we have the greatest chance of continuing to 'evolve' Astrology.....

and especially improve both Western & Eastern varieties....

and help usher in a day when a true, modern, science of Astrology is found, enjoyed and even accepted as a real Science.

ps....I've often thought the reality of the nakshaktras might be more precise then the Signs, approach, but I found most everyone literally, followed their Jyotish/Signs....significations...so

there wasn't the pressing need to emphasize the nakshatras, for me....

 

I find most everyone has such an overwhelming need to gain the wisdom of their charts, that the splitting hairs so to speak about details not as important.

 

Though for the context in which we're discussing, encouraging to develop a more true, accurate, living and breathing Astrology, I think it is very worth talking all about.

 

pss.....I'd like to talk to you personally about both your Western & Jyotish charts.....

 

I'd be happy to look at both charts, with you some time, I think it could be a fruitful discussion.

Maybe that is why the nakshatras which were originally used by vedic

astrologers are replaced for the Greek zodiac, which was designed

much later. Look at the names of the planets and signs, they are not

indian, but Greek.

Yes that is strange. You would think that they would not use greek

names at all, but only working with the nakshatras. I must confess

that I was somewhat dissappointed to read that most vedic

astrologers were using the greek subdivision instead of the

nakshatras. I'd rather say (with my limited knowledge of vedic

astrology) that my sun is in Vishaka in the vedic one instead of

naming it Libra, because this is totally different from my western

chart where I am a scorpio, which also fits into my personality. I

think reading also Marks description of the vedic version about

having a sun in Libra does not ring a bell to me at all! I can

identify myself better with the Vishaka description, but I hardly

read about the nakshatrason this list, because the greek names are

mostly used. I think it is a good idea from Patrice to start

dscussing the nakshatras instead of the greek zodiac when talking

about vedic astrology. I may sound like a heretic, but I would like

to discuss this here. If you disagree with me, please try to

convince me and not ban me from the list, Mark.
