Guest guest
Dear Bettina: Catching up with emails, today.... I used to think of Rahu like that too and for the longest time, couldn't therefore, find the 'blessings in disguise'.... then, I realized I was doing this, and began my more uplifting way of looking at Rahu... Since 'all', functioning benefics and malefics, are really aspects of God, or Nature, coming back to us, they're not essentially, malefic,....but benefic... So, if Rahu's 'role', is to reflect, the lower, desire, looking for fame, quality or circumstance in life, then,..... Rahu's higher function, is to represent, fulfillment of desire, in a more balanced way..... Therefore, if we're finding ourselves getting sucked into Rahu's lower quality, and having frustrations with 'desires', 'compulsions', 'difficult habits and patterns',....or 'addicitons',...then we can immediately, 'get it'....and recognize...the functioning malefic Rahu.... and then, aspire....to balance and transform....him, through transforming....ourselves! This is the essence of life... To be born with certain strengths and certain weaknesses, or malefics... The malefics are where we need attention, and what's beautiful about this insight into Jyotish/Astrology.....is that each planet is there to help us with the exact, particular flavor of transformation that needs to develop! So, if Rahu's still a challenge to us, and/or we have any of Rahu's negative, or malefic qualities, then,....we can desire to strengthen and transform Rahu! Rahu....because it acts like Saturn, responds well to the remedial measures of Saturn.... Also, Rahu's particular inclination to lead to those 'patterns', 'compulsions', or habits, addictions, therefore, we can put attention on breaking any of those habits... Ayurved has some wonderful techniques that are used in such habits, compulsions, especially related to eating disorders and the such.... I've had a lot of luck adapting...many of these ideas to the Jyotish/Astrology.... In my charts and courses, I love to go into specific ideas and examples of how anyone can dissolved Rahu's negatives..... What a joy, this Jyotish/Astrology is! Thank you Bettina, & all for all your recent participations and interests! " Bettina " <chiria Thu, 15 Apr 2004 15:25:50 -0700 RE: 4/15..> MK ..re... How Rahu/ketuarebenefic or malefic for ahoroscope? I think of Rahu as a baby bird with its mouth wide open, wanting to be fed all the time. It seems to have huge appetites, whether for material things, power, attention, food, you name it. Some, but not all people with R rising are unusually large physically, though not neccessarily fat. Other things have to concur. Yes, it does seem that a strong R is busy creating future karma. There's sort of a quality of being an infant that wants all these experiences without thinking out where they will land as a result of having them. .... During my Rahu dasha, I expressed my spirituality through witchcraft, and this is what my published books are written about (Ketu in fifth, which can be to do with ritual expression)...so the Rahu/Ketu axis comes into play here. I certainly felt I was moving through something from past lives. Of course, when I say witchcraft and magic I don't mean in in the terms the media paints it with (which are more akin to black magic) but as a form of spirituality aligned with the natural world, benign and compassionate. Loving all of life. > > So if K has to do with past lives, does R have to do with future lives? Why > does it tend to be difficult to handle? I think Rahu is where we sometimes strive, so creating fresh karma to be played out in the future...maybe not even future lives as karma can come back very quickly once you are aware of its functioning. But I really think both nodes are great spiritual teachers. Komilla Sutton's book on the nodes is the best I've seen in either eastern or western astrology, and she stresses the possibility of resolution through them. > > You're the one I should have said " Good luck with the grandbaby " to, so I say > it now. Thanks ;-) I feel so privileged that they will all be living with us, even though we'll be cramped. We're less than two weeks to her due date now, and it could happen sooner - so exciting! Flick.
