Hello Mark and Everyone,

I'm new to join this list and it looks fantastic. I've been reading all the recent past posts and what a great group here... thanks Mark for creating such a group! Seeing all your recent posts regarding the different phases of the Moon and it made me look at the lunar eclipse coming on May 4th.

I use KP ayanamsa so get the eclipse here in the DC area at 3:33 PM, which is an interesting number in itself. But the main thing regarding the eclipse is that it's happening at 20:53 Libra in Vishaka, Jupiter star and Jupiter sub. R Jupiter itself is in Venus ruled star and Venus sub, so same star lord as depositor of this eclipse in Libra, but what caught my eye is that Jupiter will be barely moving at that time with only a declination of 00:00:03, and will go stationary that same day at 9:24 PM, and start forward again at 11:36 that night, although still barely moving.

Jupiter is in Leo and the exalted Sun in a trine and Sun itself receiving a 9H aspect from this powerful Jupiter. Sun interestingly is in Venus star with Jupiter sub. This Sun is of course conjoined Rahu and Rahu also has declination barely moving that day and also goes stationary. I don't know the movement of the nodes with regards to declination much and haven't ever watched for that so I don't know how often nodes go stationary. (Also as they are not actual planets perhaps it's not the same as when a planet like Jupiter will be stationary that day.) Venus will still be in it's own house at the very end of Taurus.

Anyway, I'm just mentioning to see what any of you might think on this coming eclipse. It's seems important to note that this is happening in a Jupiter's star and also that Jupiter will be moving so slowly and will turn to stationary and forward again on that day. Also that on that day Jupiter's depositor will still be exalted (although well beyond the degree of deepest exaltation), and particularly so as it's the Sun thinking of the spiritual aspects and time for this eclipse.. Also that this eclipse is happening in a friend's star and the depositor of this eclipse will be in Moon's Moolatrikona position. I may be mixing apples and oranges in this in this last bit, or but it does seem interesting and lending again more thought and connection that Venus is in Moon's Moolatrikona position... don't know... is this off the wall to consider? but seems again some kind of interaction and exchange...

For me personally it will be interesting to see the effects of this as my natal Moon is in Vishaka and natal Ascendant is in P.Phal where Jupiter is for this eclipse, (although not close by degrees), but this connection is probably why I'm writing on this ey...

All kindest regards,

Patrice

Hi Patrice, Wow, you sure know your Vedic! I am still waiting for the info on free vedic software sites if anybody has it, or has one they trust. I have noticed a couple of sites that offer it, but hesitate because of the possibility of hidden virus or something like that....now that I finally seem to have a well-functioning computer after almost nine months of constant breakdowns.

Your comments on Jupiter are very interesting. Jupiter so stationary that day of the eclipse, and of course it is my Grandson's solar return chart so I am really wondering about the personal affect when I think about it!

Thank goodness I have astrology to try to figure it out, cheers, and nice to meet you! MorganaPatrice Curry <patricecurry wrote:

Dear Morgana and Patrice,

Morgana, the J.Hora software is safe to download and pretty good, especially for Jaimini. Andrew Foss's Shri Jyoti Star is brilliant, but I believe there is a time limit on his (not sure). I honestly don't think you need to worry about viruses with them. And, yes, agreeing with you, Patrice is brilliant at Vedic! Patrice, I think its your Vishaka moon - fantastic detective skills, zeroing in on all the details. And, I do think you're right that it adds an extra interesting spiritual dimension to this eclipse that the Sun is exalted and Venus, Moon's disp. is in Moon's exaltation sign. Also, Venus is AK on that day and is sandhi and, according to Andrew Foss, sandhi position can lend a deeper spiritual depth to the grahas. And Jupiter's speed - had not considered that. Thanks for pointing that out! Am so happy you've joined!

Annie

PS Vishaka...why didn't I think of it before Patrice? Pottery. 3/9 axis for this eclipse!morgana <aquatiger1950 wrote:

Hi Dear Morgana and Annie and All,

Wow! you guys are amazing with all the emails and posts. I have barely been able to read them all... and not around much these past couple days so I apologize for not responding on this sooner. Thanks Morgana and Annie for your responses to my thoughts on the eclipse. Yes, that Jupiter is going stationary as well is amazing and interesting on that day.

BUT, I have definitely lead you astray Morgana, egads - I'm learning Jyotish and still in some very basic ways. And Annie, thanks for your extremely generous words, and your support. (She is always so amazing with cheering me on and sharing!) But I am much the beginner still in Vedic.

Also I think simple can be better lots of the time, but as Annie wrote I think my Moon in Vishaka, and in Scorpio to boot, along with R Jupiter in 8H (Jupiter lord of Vishaka) and in Pisces and aspecting both Cancer 12H, and Moon itself in 4H Scorpio, and Saturn and Jupiter in a 7H aspect from one another - not even to mention that Jupiter is in Saturn's star, with that Saturn in Virgo.... and on and on.. I can get going and not know where to stop with the details and looking deeper and deeper into the chart, or the transits, or whatever... I think that is why I am naturally drawn to KP techniques, or part of the reason for that. Going into the nakshatras and their lords and then also the deities. So much information there and for me some clarity then in those areas and getting to some specifics when doing Vedic.

AND I know no western astrology. I would really love, and am dying to learn, the progressions. I purchased Solar Fire to do so. I have seen some amazing work with KP when using TP's and other progressions.

Morgana, there have been so many responses since this note, and others writing where you might be able to get some software. Great, I hope you have by now ~ think I may have seen a post that you did get JHora, I'm racing through the posts to try to catch up with what all are writing these past couple days.

Also interesting about your Grandson's solar return chart. Nice to meet you too Morgana! Thanks.

Thanks for your welcome dear Annie, and yes, interesting about the pottery wheel...timing.

Everyone have a wonderful Friday night and weekend. Also for Therese, Anne, and Flick, sounds like all of you would definitely already be well aware of Bach remedies, but still I want to mention, Walnut is amazing for protection from negative energies, etc.. and when you are so sensitive. I am always taking it for that reason as well. Doesn't interfere with the sensitivity, just protects you from the negative aspects of those energies. I also give it to my last teen at home, they are exposed to so much always at that age and also are often very sensitive.

All blessings,

Patrice

Patrice, a homeopath friend put me onto Walnut remedy 18 years ago, when my

husband and I were first together and my ex was causing trouble on the

psychic air waves. Now I keep a bottle by the bed and use it if I wake in

the night with someone else in my head. It puts a bubble round you.

Hi Patrice, Well if you are a beginner, I hate to imagine what I am! You

are a very quick study then! I don't even know what Moon in Vashaka means! I

did copy lots of notes to file tonight though and you may bet that when I stop

yakking on line answering emails, I will surely find out what it means!

cheers, Morgana
