Hi Flick,

That magic technique sounds interesting. Is this from the Wicca? How

does it work for you? I am not familiar with that technique so can

you tell me in what way it worked out for you in your daily life?

Greetings,

Anne

Hi Anne,

Well the roots of this came from reading Isabel Hickey's Astrology A Cosmic

Science, in the mid 70's when I first came into astrology. She states that

enterprises begun on a waning moon don't often flourish (or words to that

effect) and that if you take a job on the last three days of the moon's

cycle you are unlikely to stay in it. I kind of fell into observing that in

my life. Then, coming into Wicca and paganism, I found that working with the

waxing moon was what most groups did. I made observations for myself and

kind of flowed with how I felt at each of the moon's phases, enjoying the

waning moon as a reflective time of deep spiritual work, discovering for

myself how to use the energies of the quarter moons. I would say that

working with the flow of the lunar tides in all areas of life smoothes

things, makes it easier. Though it's best not to fall into the trap of

missing opportunities because they don't fit the current moon's phases -

let's not forget that there are other energies at work, including planetary

transits.

I wish to make it clear here that I no longer regard myself as do deeply

involved with paganism (though I've been pagan in a very unstructured way

all my life). Wicca was something I passed through because I needed to

experience ritual and group work (neither of which naturally appeal to me).

Taking the gist of the Buddha's statement (not strictly quoted here) that

religion is a boat to take you to the other shore, and when you reach it you

don't need the boat, I have always been the sort of person who prefers to

swim, hitching the occasional ride on someone else's boat ;-)) Astrology has

been the only total constant in my life.

Flick.
