Guest guest
Dear Flick & Bettina: I've been enjoying your two conversations re. Rahy/Ketu over the last few days. Sorry, I haven't had time to correspond till now. First I was very busy, a few days ago, then, I fell into my typical, Waning Moon hole these last few days. Though I was very curious to see how this year's Solar Eclipse would 'feel'. I had written an article for Express Starteller, one of the largest Jyotish International magazines, that came out in their March issue regarding the Solar Eclipse on April 19th... The gist of my article was about the traditional significations of Rahu however, I predicted this year's Solar Eclipse wouldn't be as negative, or troublesome because of the Sun's Exaltation. I also like your reflections on what Rahu might be like if Exalted, itself... We can also predict what Rahu might be like if it's just more positive, and benefic..... My experience with Rahu is fairly simple. The traditional symbolism of the ancient 'rakshashi' fighting with the devas in Heaven, and especially the idea of Rahu masquerading as an immortal, getting in the line, with the other devas, the Sun, Moon, Jupiter, etc.... and trying to taste the amrita, being dished out by Lord Krishna..... I think is very interesting... It's like Rahu represents...the desire, individualistic, lower, quality of the smaller self....seeking to become divine... But, from it's own side, not quite knowing how, so ....like that....desires.... trying to find fulfillment ....as if through themselves.... leads to the particular frustrations of malefic Rahu.... However, when the same desire, mechanisms....that Rahu represents...are integrated...back to a kind of fundamental quality of 'silence', inherent within the nervous system.... then impulses, compulsions, addictions,....all,....can be neutralized.... and the cylce of addictions broken.... and fulfillment found...within... Then, desires can continue to percolate up, but not leading us astray.... and in control....so as not to get out of control.... fun discussions... Sincerely, Mark Kincaid Flick <rubysun Thu, 15 Apr 2004 19:45:37 +0100 Re: 4/15..> MK ..re... How Rahu/ketu arebenefic or malefic for ahoroscope? During my Rahu dasha, I expressed my spirituality through witchcraft, and this is what my published books are written about (Ketu in fifth, which can be to do with ritual expression)...so the Rahu/Ketu axis comes into play here. I certainly felt I was moving through something from past lives. Of course, when I say witchcraft and magic I don't mean in in the terms the media paints it with (which are more akin to black magic) but as a form of spirituality aligned with the natural world, benign and compassionate. I think Rahu is where we sometimes strive, so creating fresh karma to be played out in the future...maybe not even future lives as karma can come back very quickly once you are aware of its functioning. But I really think both nodes are great spiritual teachers. Komilla Sutton's book on the nodes is the best I've seen in either eastern or western astrology, and she stresses the possibility of resolution through them. > > You're the one I should have said " Good luck with the grandbaby " to, so I say > it now. Thanks ;-) I feel so privileged that they will all be living with us, even though we'll be cramped. We're less than two weeks to her due date now, and it could happen sooner - so exciting! Flick.
