Guest guest
Here's a wonderful dialogue about how to determine if a planet is acting malefically or benefically! sincerely Mark K. Dear John: I'd like to invite you to join the new /message board I've created for rs. If you feel comfortable, corresponding, through this group, so others can benefit from our questions and answers, then please join. If you have some questions that are too personal, to air, in that group, then, email me here. I need to know the whole details of your chart, dob..etc...first.. but, generally,...when a Planet rules simultaneously, 2 houses, one of which is one of the more positive or benefic houses and another one of the more 'malefic' ones.. We're encouraged by Jyotish to look at it's simultaneous 'dual' nature. However, practical experience finds that when a planet is in it's own Sign, even if ruling a mixture of houses, still, it's more likely that the 8th house is not a hinderance, but the more positive sides of the 8th house...are stronger, due to the 8th house lord, Mercury, being in it's own Sign! The way to tell, however, because sometimes, even Exalted Planets can be, being mis-used, so to speak, or strained against, like Exalted Saturn, for example.. but, the way to tell if any planet is being 'malefic', is if any of the negative, or malefic, charactereistics of it are showing.... For Mercury, malefic effects include the lack of ability of clarity of thinking, and hard time making decisions, or thinking clearly. Generally, when Mercury's in it's own sign, Gemini, or Exalted in Virgo, the more positive attributes of that sign, are available! I'll give you another example. I have Jupiter in Pisces in my chart, ...though it's in the traditionally, thought to be 'bad',....6th House... I've even been told by many people that my Jupiter is malefic! and that my relations with health and younger brothers and sisters would be negatively effected as a result. However, nothing like that has been true. I have and always have had wonderful health, and especially recuperative abilities... In addition, I have 5 other younger brothers and sisters and we're all very close, ..... So, here's another examle of a Planet which is actually acting positively...and is more indicative of a benefic status then malefic... Hope this helps... Sincerely, Mark Kincaid Hi Mark, When you were talking about " right " vs " not-right " actions you said if we see planets in our natal chart in their own sign that shows positive Karma for having used that planet's energy in a " right " way in past times. In my chart I have Mercury in Gemini (own sign) in 5th house (positive) but Mercury rules 8th house (Aquarius ascendent) .Is this both a positive and negative situation? Please advise. I very much enjoy your daily reports-keep up the good work. Thanks, John
