Guest guest
Dear Friends: Here's an interesting story and correspondence regarding teaching Astrology in schools, and some of my suggestions to keeping it simple and which are the most important first things one might learn. enjoy Mark K. Dear Chris: Here's a quick thought for you. Spend a lot of time, explaining the different Signs.... and either try and get charts made for the students, and especially explain that we're more than just our Sun Signs... Just making the correlation between the different Astrological Signfications; like Sun = Self confidence, Moon = Emotional Mind, feelings, intuition, Mercury represent Intellect, Mars = represents Sports! they should like that one... Saturn represents = maturity, balance....etc.. Tell them also, that Astrology is priceless because it explains exactly why we all have such a unique and different, in fact, Astrological human nature. These depictions of the Sun in Pisces or Aries, capture very nicely...the human nature, within. Also, help them understand too, that the 3 most important Astrological configurations are the Sun, Moon & Rising Sign. In a very real sense, these 3 together, express a lot of each one of our Astrological natures... Good luck... Sincerely, Mark Kincaid ps.... I just recently started receiving this 'youngastro' group. So, I'm not sure, if you consider yourselves primarily a Western Astrology group...? I personally, do more Eastern Astrology or Jyotish. Though the description that I gave, above, is true for both systems... I also write a daily, Jyotish, Newsletter. This includes a look at each day's Transits as well as articles on Advanced Astrological topics and subjects. Feel free to contact me personally if you're interested to : m.kincaid. I'm also very happy for you, Chris. I've recently started teaching Astrology classes on the net, and it's been fabulous. I think when one begins teaching others, then, one really learns...!.... > " Chris " <pointbreak > youngastro > Wed, 07 Apr 2004 07:35:56 -0000 > youngastro > [youngastro] I'm teaching a class > > I needed to get some advice from everybody here. > > I just worked out a deal the other day with my old high school > principal to teach an introductory class on astrology at his school. > Obviously we have to keep it kind of on the down low so to not alert > the school board, or any potentially fanatical parents- but still- > it's a public high school and I've got complete creative control over > where I want to go with it.
