Guest guest
Dear Friends: Here's another nice correspondence on how to study Jyotish. How, by keeping it simple, and building a firm foundation in the beginning, then the more advanced aspects of Jyotish will be more understandable. Mark K. Dear Murali & All: Just a few thoughts here regarding studying Jyotish. Because the potential scope of Jyotish is no less than the entire Universe, thorughtout all times, it's not surprising that it's so vast and difficult to approach. But, I've learned if you keep it simple, especially in the beginning and start with some very important inital building blocks, then the more advanced stages will take care of themselves. For example, #1....Start with what you know... Write down a list of Qualities, Tendencies and Characteristics...re...who you are! You already know a lot about yourself! So, take advantage of that, and start with that. Then, #2...Study the Sun, Moon & Rising Signs....first... Study especially....the descriptions, of what it's supposed to be like to have a Sun, in Pisces, a Moon in Libra, and a Gemini, Rising, all of which are what it would be like if you were born, today....(Sun's in Pisces & Moon's in Libra, today!) #3,....It's difficult trying to write Jyotish/or even Astrology books because it's very difficult to be able to try and adequately describe all the millions of people, all of which have the Sun in each Sign, for example. Therefore, when you're reading descriptions of what it's supposed to be like to have your own Sun, Moon & Rising Signs....when you're reading the description, write down anything that personally resonates with you!..... That's probably your chart.... Then, when you've gone through each of the configurations of your chart....by Sign,...and by House.... you should have a good list of descriptions that 'really fit you'... #4,....If you can also, correspond those Jyotish configurations and their descriptions to the Qualities list, you've already written down... you'll really get an intuition...of what truely fits you! #5...Remember keep it simple... Study,...the Planets first.... They represent very specific parts of us... Sun = ego, I, self-confidence... Moon = emotions, intution, and emotional & mental stability... Mercury = Intellect, decision makings, clarity of mind, intellectual intelligence... Mars = Physical energy, power, assertiveness, energy... Saturn = balance, maturity, patience, ....restfulness....silence... Like this each Planet corresponds with some aspects of yourself... #6...Then, Study what it's supposed to be like to have these Planetary situations... in particular Houses.....and in Signs... Get familiar with these 3 things, first... Planets, Houses and Signs... All the rest can come later, aspects, dasas, transits,...divisional charts.... Oh, yes, one more thing.... When we want to know what the future will bring, especially how the dasas, will be occuring for us.... we can first study the past....because if Jyotish is real and accurate, then it should demonstrate fruits, in the past. Then, as we get experience in seeing how people's lives are a reflection simultaneously of both their Charts, Dasas, and Transits, then we'll gain the wisdom to then, understand the future! enjoy Mark Kincaid.... PS....I don't know if you've heard, but I also write a Jyotish newsletter. It includes a daily, Transits newsletter as well as other aspects of Jyotish as well. If you, or anyone else in this group is interested, in subscribing, feel free to contact me personally at: m.kincaid I, also have a new /message board, called which is a nice blending of both Western & Eastern Astrologys.
