Guest guest
Here's a wonderful discussion regarding the ego, I, Sun....Self..and enlightenment...\ Mark K. And I'd like to add one thing...here... That the positive 'spin' on the ego, when it's in the role of the 'I'...and not overly arrogance, egotistical or inferior.... when the soul or awareness enters into the Self... one could also say that the ego....expands.... And yet, it's not the general ego trip, kind of expansion....but it's the kind of expansion that leads to the Cosmic ego.... There is a Cosmic ego, or I....and when you realize that inner reality as your own, it has the effect of actually creating or reflecting great humility! Because when you realize you are the Self of the universe.... it can be quite expansive!... but at the same time that you can experience this.... contained within that experience is the wonderful knowingness that all others....are also that Cosmic Self... So the ego...expansion that Enlightenment can represent...isn't an ego, that feels better or superior to any others...but in fact feels one...with all! Agree 100%. However, we have to bear in mind the differences between ego, egoism and egotism. They are not the same! Ego is a double-edged sword. It is indeed the identity of every living being. It is required for survival. Ego is required for the existence of the soul in each of the sapta loka (7 worlds created by God). But at time of mukti, the ego (worldly identity) is left behind.
