Guest guest
Dear Friends: Here's an interesting dialogue regarding Jyotish remedies... thought you might enjoy! Mark K. Dear shukra: Very well said. My particular interest and research in terms of Jyotish has literally been on these types of remedies too. When I was in India in 1988, attending a course on Ayurved, Maharishi said Ayurved and Jyotish had a very fundamental purpose at literally eliminating the, (his words; 'pragya parads'), within. Pragya parads, Maharishi said, are the source of all ignorance, bad habits, illusions, etc. I came back from India, inspired by Maharishi to study Jyotish, and I discovered that the 'malefics' in our charts, are great candidates...for being our 'pragya parads'. I've also found that not only are the Malefics symbolic of the particular problems and challenges that we all are facing... but... it occured to me, maybe there's some symbolic, wisdom there for us, that if we could learn, perhaps...we could improve ourselves...on just this very important level of consciousness. And that's been my experience, 16 years later, am happy to say, this approach, which does get stimulated when you do prayers, obesiances to the Planets, yantras, feeding the birds, and other traditional behavioral modifications... do all try and help us...change the 'negative' patterns...that are there, within... Nice hearing from you. ciao Mark K. For Sun, being of service to your father. If the best service is just to call them up and listen sincerley to whatever they have to say then that might be the best remedy, for saturn it is service to the old or destitute- you can find this info on the internet or a good book on it is DR Robert Svoboda's " The Greatness of Saturn " . Systems Analysis (SA) websites have a lot of that info. The remedies in Parashara are usually given as reciting/listening to Aditya Hrudayam for the sun, Vishnu sahasranam for mercury, for other planets worship of Durga, Shiva, Rudra Japa; or often Mahamrityunjaya mantra if the problem is one of health or other kind of physical danger. Parashara often mentions remedies like giving a goat in charity for Ketu or a white cow for venus problems. yagyas are mentioned but only briefly compared to these other kinds of remedies.
