Here's a wonderful quote I received today, about Consciousness.... and the nature of individuality....

 

I'm including it here, because the Goal of Jyotish, after all, like the 3 Wise men in the bible,

using the knowledge of the Stars....to follow this special Star!, to find the Christ child,

 

like that.... Jyotish is to help us become enlightened....to find God-Realization....

I've actually wondered about this...topic that Maharishi's talking about here.

 

You hear certain people sometimes, exponding on their experiences or realizations about

their Oneness...of God... and it strikes me that ....sometimes....there's a bit of arrogance...

there...

 

but here in this expression, the Guru...which is his role, to help guide us,

even in the most sublime fields of transcendence.... here Maharishi, cautions....

 

to remain that wonderful child of God,

even if inside...you feel no difference....

 

still there's a cherished quality that gets maintained....

 

thanks again for bringing this to my awareness...

Is there a difference between the individual and God in the transcendental

state?

 

MAHARISHI: The individual is a loving child of God, if we want to make a

difference and union. He is a loving child of God. We don't say he is God

because that will be too arrogant on our part. We say he will be a loving

child of God. That is how we put it down.

 

We have to be very careful for our expressions with regard to God, the light

of God, and always we submit to the light of God. We enjoy the full light of

God, but we always talk in terms of submission to the light of God,

surrender

to the light of God, surrender to the feet of God, surrender to the merciful

father.

 

And this sentiment is so soft and so divine, so enjoyable for its value. So

we are very careful for our delicate expression with reference to the light

of God. It is very delicate because that is the field of bliss, that we

enjoy in that area. That is the level of real devotion. That is the level of

real Yoga. That is the level of real Vedanta. That is the real area of all

the different aspects of the Vedic Literature. And, therefore, that is the

whole thing about the Atma.

 

So our sole focus of education is to familiarize our awareness with what

Atma is, with what that totality is, with what that enormous, infinite

potential of intelligence and power is. That is what we want to own. That is

what we are here to establish in the world.
