Feeding a cow as an upaya is suggested for two things : [ 1 ] For peace and prosperity in the home one should feed a roti to a cow, a dog, and to crows/birds. This will make sure that there is harmony in the family and 'barqat' all around. This is known as 'Gau gras' in Lal Kitab, 'gras' meaning a small piece of roti. [ 2 ] Feeding green leaves to a cow is suggested to appease Venus. This is the best upaya to get the blessings of Venus in one's life.
