3. Other Views on Rahu/Ketu

 

1) Though under the Systems' Approach, Rahu and Ketu have been categorized as functional malefics, yet in exceptional cases, when Rahu is well placed in a mooltrikona sign, does not cause any conjunction or close aspect with other houses/planets and its depositor is strong, Rahu too, gives good results during the course of its sub-periods for materialistic prosperity. Rahu and Ketu in exaltation state give materialistic benefits while debilitated Rahu and Ketu involve one in exposed scandals and acute physical sufferings, respectively. Generally, Rahu/Ketu gives malignant growth of the aspects and signification of the planets under their close influence through aspect or conjunction.

2) Rahu is called as a blemish planet, which creates problems and does not give the results effectively to the native when it is in the DBA. If Rahu is a strong significator of the improving houses in all 4 steps, which is not found in most cases, then it won't create problems. Ketu does not create problems if it is supporting the favorable houses.

6. Rahu's signification in order of strength

 

1) Ra+ is in 1. No plt is in its star and so it's a strong significator of 1 (1st house). (+ = no plt in its star)

2) Ra is Conj Mo+(1,8,+1), ie. Mo is in 1, lord of 8 and no plt in its star and it's the sub-lord of 1st cusp.

3) Ra is Aspt by Me(7,7,10).

4) Ra is in the star of Su+(8,9,+12). (No plt in Su's star and Su is the sub-lord of 12th.)

5) Ra's sign-lord Sa+(6,2,3). (Sa is not the sub-lord of any cusp.)

 

Ra is in its own sub Ra and so it's strong to give the results what Ra itself has to give.

 

7. Results

 

1) The strongest signification of 1st house indicates the native's self effort his best but 1st is detrimental/negative 12 house to 2nd (money, family matters) house and no indication of 11th (gain, fulfillment of desire), instead 8,12 (loss). So it's understandable for not being able for sufficient money earning. (The weak signification of 2,6 in the last level can't help.) "The 1st house, though 12th to the 2nd, is not held as a negative house for 2nd, but considered as a primary house to get money as it represents the native and his efforts etc" in 4 step theory is found not working in this case.

 

2) 7th in the 3rd level signification shows marriage and 1,8,10,12 unhappiness and quarrel in married life but not divorce as 6 is not strong enough, as 8th shows quarrel not separation.

 

3) Lack of 2, 6, 11 signification can be the reason for not getting a good paid job but trying own independent business as indicated by 7,10 but not successful due to 1,8,12 signification.

 

8. Conclusion

 

1) These are indicated by Ra Dasa as per its position in the native's chart not by Ra itself as a malefic.

 

2) Many people gain name, fame and prosperity in Ra Dasa, for instance Mahatma Gandhi with Ra in 10th conj 10th lord Moon, Princes Diana with Ra in 10th conj Lagna lord Mars, Al Gore with Ra in 10th aspected by 10th lord Jupiter.

 

3) The bottom line is not to blame Ra but to analyze it as per KP rules.
