Interesting topic. I have Rahu in 12th and 12th lord is in the 9th house. Ever

since my Rahu MD started I have been out of my home town.

Both put together has chances of going abroad, and very powerfully.

 

But (1)Rahu in the 12th... or...(2) 12th in the 9th... may not lead to abroad

Dear Mr. Iyer,

 

As you perhaps know, lunar nodes have been associated with certain attributes

that make them have a chimeraic personality (change). Even in BPHS (I will not

rehash my article on astrotreasures) they have been attributed with different

lordships (none in the beginning, conditional ones in the context of

charadashas, and a different set towards the end). Many scholars treat them as

surrogates for planets they are with, lord of the sign they are in and standing

in for the nakshatra dispositor, etc etc.

 

They have been associated with wandering (as have other planets been too!) and

they are believed to represent foreign cultures and heterodoxy.

 

Given such a wide span of possibilities, would it not make sense to not pin

something as life-changing in a mundane sense as foreign travel and immigration

to more than just rahu and moon?

Dear Iyer ,

 

Foreign travel is given by ninth lord, foreign stay is given by twelfth

lord. Venus is for travelling.

 

Person should also have yogas in chart for that otherwise other aspects

of ninth lord and twelfth lord will be given by God.

Would these factors as you claim equally and definitively apply to these two

different individuals:

 

= A poor child raised in India by relatively poor parents?

 

= The daughter of Bill Gates or Bill Clinton or Prince Williams (or even Prince

Charles for that matter?)

Dear RR ,

 

I think there is one sloka in Saravali, Parasaera or Phaldeepika which

states that one should include kala desa patra in the results readings,

also there are some slokas which differs

results for different varnas, therefore tradition teaches we should also

draw prashna chart to add this important factor which you have nicely

mentioned.

Someone who signs off as a SJC Jyotish Guru in signature line -- should you not

give more precise citation on this *scientific* forum?

 

The correct spelling, by the way is PARASHARA and not Pareasaera!

 

'Jyotish Gurus' must be calmer and collected and not in such a hurry!

Yes I would say foreign travel for Rahu in twelve, usually by air, and overseas,

depending on other factors, but if a water rasi is on twelfth cusp then overseas

is highly likely. L9 in twelve also means travel overseas.

I'm not sure about Moon in twelve however, this would depend on which house the

moon ruled, so if ruling house four, then overseas living is likely, if ruling

first, then it might just indicate shyness.

The rule of three applies, so if three factors say overseas travel or foreign

travel likely the chart, then you can predict it will happen.

Dear Shekar ji, The Planet Rahu is generally understood to be the

karaka for foreign and aliens (Foreigners). Mercury is the karaka for

travels . But its not necessary that in every chart of foreign travel,

Rahu or Mercury should figure mandatorily. It can be any planet. If

the 3rd house, 9th house and the 12th house simultaneously appear as

being activated in any period in the natives life, then its a sure shot

case of foreign travel ( Of course if the native wishes to or is making

plans, or is asking such a question to the astrologer). The 3rd house

is necessary to be activated because it means staying away from home or

ones residence ( Remember its 12th from the 4th) The 9th we all know

is for long journey. The 12th is for new sorroundings. Therefore any

planet among the 9 Planets, whenever they happen to activate the 3,9,11

and 12 houses, especially the 9th and the 12th houses, then foreign

rahu really seems to signify foreign travel /air/- My son's Rahu MD has

been mostly about foreign-air-travel. Nowevere at home really- rapid changes as
