Guest guest
Here is a very beautiful description of the eclipse in the UK in 755. I will also try and include a map of the heavens at the time. The quote is from the Anglo Saxon Chronicles. 756AD On the 8th of kalends of December (24th Novem.), the moon fifteen days old, that is at the full moon, was suffused with a blood red colour; and then the darkness gradually diminishing, it returned to its former lustre. for very remarkably, a bright star following the moon itself, and passing across it, excelled it in brilliancy, as much as it was inferior before the moons obscuration. Rahu is at 0 degrees 42 50 Gemini ready to eat the moon, as allowed by the gods, as it moves from 28 deg 32 5 sec in Taurus straight into the jaws of Rahu. Rahu has to move across the face of Jupiter which is at 29 35 53 Taurs in conjunction with both Rahu and the Moon. The bright star which is then revealed as the Moon's brightness is swallowed by Rahu, is none other than the birght star Capella in the constellation holding Auriga ''the charioteer'' Do you not think that the ''blood red colour'' of the moon is a lovely description of the injury it would sustain when being eaten by Rahu?
