Guest guest
Om Datta Guru Dear Sreeram, Yes that can also be the case which i had earlier thought as Jupiter more so for karaka for astro books as Jupiter is Gyan. What about manuscripts would it be Saturn, how do we see in a chart that person will have craze for Old Books and Old manuscripts best wishes Sunil , " sreeram srinivas " <sreeram64 wrote: > > > Dear Sunil, > > The karaka for books is Jupiter. Guest guest
I would also look at a strong Mercury and third house of written comms, as well as a good Moon for fame and ninth house also for fame, all of which when aspected by Jupiter would bring book published, as long as there are good yogas in the chart - sreeram srinivas Thursday, October 23, 2008 5:15 AM Re: Books Karaka & House Dear Sunil, The karaka for books is Jupiter. Guest guest
Dear Sunil, Coming to basic points of astrology - Library of books that one is likely to read is based on the sign, predominance is represented by the Planets in that sign or PAC or amsa dispositor PLUS the HOUSE represented by the Sign & Planets placed there Example : Taurus Sign = fixed sign = one tend to read books of those authors who are authoritative { have fixed mindset on a given subject} Gemini Sign = dual sign = one tend to read books of mixed or hybrid ideas {like our economists who keep changing their theories based on society & country..etc.}... also imaginative ideas generating books Aries Sign = movable sign = you often here in friends circles about few people's specialization on LATEST techniques / technology / ..... i.e. in short everything LATEST in market place or in that subject...... So in short, there no shortcuts in astrology..... { Some Yester Years Event - How Mr. S hororscope was analysed by famous Mr. K and concluded it was - A_____ topic....} With regards, Sreeram_Srinivas , " suniljohn_2002 " <suniljohn_2002 wrote: > > Om Datta Guru > Dear Sreeram, > Yes that can also be the case which i had earlier thought as Jupiter > more so for karaka for astro books as Jupiter is Gyan. > What about manuscripts would it be Saturn, how do we see in a chart that > person will have craze for Old Books and Old manuscripts > > best wishes > Sunil > , " sreeram srinivas " sreeram64@ > wrote: > > > > > > Dear Sunil, > > > > The karaka for books is Jupiter. Guest guest
Dear Sunil, As said earlier, I still consider 4H for basic books in general. Beyond that I concur with what Ms. Neelam ji has mentioned in her mail i.e. NO specific house for books. Prasna-friend(s) do not have any answer for this - seem to agree on above. Guest guest
Om Datta Guru Dear Neelam, Today i was speaking with Kursijaji in the afternoon and he made a point that 2H is possessions so if we look at books as our possession it could be 2H Rest all as you said is the basics, but in case if you or anyone finds a classical source to this pls feel free to point it out. Guest guest
Om Datta Guru Dear Neelam, My understanding is books were there atleast a few hundred or 1-2 thousand years back. The essence of the books were taught through oral tradition. a) We had Nalanda University (427 CE to 1197 CE) The library of Nalanda, known as Dharma Gunj (Mountain of Truth) or Dharmagañja (Treasury of Truth), was the most renowned repository of Buddhist knowledge in the world at the time. Its collection was said to comprise hundreds of thousands of volumes, so extensive that it burned for months when set aflame by Muslim invaders. (wikipedia) b) I presume Bhrighu Samhita was written in book form by Sage Bhrighu and he predates most of our classic authors. The reason i presume is so many thousands of horoscopes nobody would have passed on in oral tradition though i am aware & met people who remember 25 of our classical books but the full Bhrighu samhita i presume is not possible. Anyways, I see this discussion going nowhere, my main attempt to post on this list was if anyone has seen a classical source for the house or karaka of books, rest all posted is logical analysis which our ancients have already talked about. But I thank everyone for participating. best wishes Sunil , " neelam gupta " <neelamgupta07 wrote: > > Dear Sunil, > > We find houses for elephants, horses, palanquin's, umbrellas, etc... but we > cannot hope to see books in this list, because in those times, there were no > books. Guest guest
Dear Sunil, What are you meant by Oral tradition? You had put the word Communication in another form And Books in the present form were never before, if you define them Papers written and stitched together , giving some information. These were in the form of Bhoj Patras hand written. How will you compare a Bhoj Patra containing knowledge or some information or some drawing , with my Email on the electronics Media? How will you compare an Ebook , giving Knowledge on Dharma , Astrology, Physics or Mathematics on my Palm top or Pocket PC? How will you compare a piece of paper written to his countrymen, with a set of papers written with the same motive with a Book? How will you compare Notes prepared by a student and then bonded together? Astrology is for the persons who will catch from one word and , do not expect from sages to write details about it. The persons who are in the informative field in Astrology should be strong fundamentally. Or the subject is already confusing to most of the fresher’s by Scholars who come with new meaning of Sanskrit Shalokas but practically making wrong predictions mostly . One’s life time is required to understand the basic essence of Astrology , so decide , if these Scholars are benefitting to the Astrology Community or harming to it. I was teaching to my student , Mercury is friend of Moon but Moon is enemy to Mercury. This is elaborated in Geeta when Lord Krishna says to Arjuna, that arrest you mind with intelligence and only then you can reach to the Soul. Means Mercury the intelligence can arrest the Mind and thus can control the Mind and thus Mercury is friend to Moon . But a wavering Mind does not let your intelligence work. That is Moon is the enemy of Mercury. So Mercury is the significator of intelligence, and what is intelligence, the power to decide , what is observed by senses, to decide that is because of Mercury/intelligence. Hence what is heard, seen, touched or tasted. Out of these books communicating by seeing and to blinds by Touch or through hearing aids. Hence Mercury is the significator of Books. 5th is the house of intelligence , with Sun and Leo its basic Ruler a Satwik Planet but Leo being Fix is a Tamoguni sign. Gemini Air element but a Satwik sign controlled by Rajsik Mercury is the House of Communication , instrument for Higher learning , being 7th to 9th and being 11th to 5th for beginning in education. I practically use 5th house for Basic education and 4rth house for Higher Education .9th for the Institute and teachers are part of Institute, you may not need books with good teachers , you may be asked to take notes only , so 9th is cause of books but not directly books. So Books , Letters, Emails, News Papers, Telephonic conversation , Oral tradition, Ebboks all realte to 3rd house and the Basic significator of them is Mercury.
