Vedic Astrology or Jyotish is called the Eye of the Veda. It is a Vedanga or one

of the six

limbs of the Veda. This course will cover the basics of Jyotish, its origin and

philosophy,

Panchanga, Nakshatra, Dashas or the basic event timing tools, basic concepts and

techniques of interpreting charts, Nature of Planets, Balarishtha, Sade Sati,

Mangal Dosha

and basic Jyotish concepts which are used in daily life in Indian rituals.

 

 

Rakesh Sharma has studied Jyotish with Prof. R.S.L. Shrivastava [Professor of

Mathematics]

at IIT Kanpur as a part of Hobby Club, which was formed after 186 Nobel Prize

winners

debunked Astrology and Palmistry as modern fads, and the students at IIT Kanpur

started

the club to test the validity of these subjects. His studies continued with many

teachers for

last 30 years. He also studied Palmistry as a part of Hobby Club at IIT Kanpur

with Prof.

Jitendra Goela [Professor,Mechanical Engineering] and read Palms of many

interesting

people including President Bill Clinton. Rakesh Sharma has been a Board member

of Arsha

Vidya Gurukulam for last 15 years, and has been organizing Jyotish Seminars for

last 14

years.
