Planetary Transits for January 10 – January 16

Sun transits out of Sagittarius and into Capricorn, Jan. 14 at 12:38 p.m.

CT, and comes under the aspect of Mars. This connects governments with

military activity. Sun is weak until Jan. 19.

Moon is waxing and transits Capricorn, Aquarius, Pisces, and into Aries.

Mars transits Gemini, from 02:56 to 01:20°. Mars is retrograde until Jan.

30, weak until Feb. 29, and under the influence of Rahu until March 11.

(There can be problems with fire, police, military, executives, property,

explosions, etc.) Mars remains in Gemini until April 28.

Mercury transits Capricorn from 09:20 to 20:03°, outside the orb of

influence of other planets. This is good for stocks, business, writing,

planning, and communications.

Jupiter transits its mooltrikona sign, Sagittarius, from 11:09 to 12:43°,

outside the orb of influence of other planets. This is exceptionally

favorable for law, religion, teaching, banking and good fortune.

Venus transits Scorpio, from 18:47 to 27:20°. Expect an end to the strike

by the Writers Guild of America around Jan. 23.

Saturn transits Leo, from 14:10 to 13:51°, and is under the aspect of

Jupiter. Saturn is retrograde until May 2.

Rahu and Ketu transit Aquarius and Leo, respectively, from 04:09 to 04:10°.

Persons with rising signs in the 4-degree range, or with planets in odd

signs in the 4-degree range, should be careful and patient.

Note: The transit of Rahu and Ketu in the horoscope of Senator Barack

Obama, are particularly difficult through the end of March. This indicates

that he will need to use a lot of care and patience in order to avoid

serious problems or calamities.

My dear David,

Thanks a lot for the updates on the planetary transits and related

predictions. They are very informative.

In particular, I look forward to see how your prediction fares with

regard to the end of the strike of the Screen Writers Guild in

Hollywood on January 23. I presume the pressure will increase as the

Oscars ceremony approaches. It would really be something if this

famous ceremony were prevented from proceeding.

We could note that Venus is natally placed in the sign of Sagittarius

and the 6th house of conflict. Moreover, its major period and the sub-

period of its dispositor, 6th lord Jupiter, are running. Hence,

issues related to their indications are notable in the national

affairs.

In coming days Venus will pass over natal 8th lord Saturn at 27°

Scorpio (January 16/17), enter the 6th house (Jan. 19) when the

aspect of Jupiter at 13° 40' Sagittarius H6 to Saturn at 13° 40 Leo

H2 is about to become exact (Jan. 20) and then Venus comes under the

exact transit aspect of Ketu at 4° Leo H2 (Jan 22). There is

therefore scope for more trouble ahead before things are resolved. On

January 23, the day you suggest, Venus will be separating from the

aspect of Ketu. This could bring with it some improvement. I note

that Jupiter will then advance rapidly in Sagittarius and become

conjunct with natal Venus in March. It will be interesting to see

what implications this has for the arts.

Importantly, I also note that L3 Mercury, indicator of

writers, will be strong in transit in January until the 23rd when

it enters old age. On January 13 it becomes conjunct its own

placement and on the 20th it becomes conjunct natal L2 Sun. This

would be expected to be helpful influences for its indications.

Perhaps you were also considering these influences in the prediction?

Dear Thor..

Thanks for the email.

I was making the prediction solely on the basis of the transit of Venus...

Around January 23rd, Venus will regain strength in Sagittarius, ruled by the

well placed Jupiter, so I suspect this will be an improvement for

entertainment and publishing, ergo writing and producing movies and

television.

We will see....
