Mercury is weak in the 4th and 7th house, the marana karaka sthanas

for the planet.

 

Why? Because the 4th house signifies study and mental work. Mercury

is a karaka for a child and would rather play with friends or the

park. As such, Mercury is unhappy in the 4th house and will not do

as well.

 

Also, the 7th house signifies marriage and sexual activities. As a

child, Mercury is incapable and clueless in being a spouse or a

sexual partner. Therefore, Mercury will be weak in the 7th house.
