Guest guest
Dear Ash, ///In what context was this verse written I feel is important to understand that just going by it verbatim./// It goes without saying that everything needs to be understood in the proper context. ///For example, for 1st house, the 11th house is an upchay stan and it is the house for the success of 1st house. It helps grow the 1st house. A successful man has a good reputation and image so 11th helps grows 1st. So now, is 11th bad for 1st?/// Again this needs to be seen in the proper context. Yes, 11th is the house of 'Gains' which, of course, implies all gains whether material, emotional or philosophical etc, etc; and, as said earlier, being a growing house (upachaya), the significations of a planet occupying this house tend to grow stronger with the passage of time...this applies, of course, to all four upachayas (3, 6, 10, 11). However we should not lose sight of the fact that the 11th is first and foremost a kama (or desire) house and, depending upon whatever influences are brought to bear on this house, we may find a native so totally immersed in materialism that there can be no hope of awakening from the illusion of maya. We have to understand that worldly success (generally) comes at a price. A quote from scripture might be appropriate here; " For what is a man profited, if he should gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his own soul? " As for the lord of 11th being malefic in nature, signifying difficulty and/or disease (depending on placement and/or aspects to vulnerable bhavas/grahas), I urge you to look deeply into as many charts as possible to realise the truth of this. It doesn't have to be taken verbatim as you implied; rather, serious study should reveal the truth of this to you. I myself am living proof of this with 11th lord Mars aspecting 8th house of vulnerability contributing to chronic inflammatory disease. Guest guest
Dear Ash, To continue on from previous mail, let's take a close look at this. ///Now, 6th house has good points and also it is the house of stomach and all disease arise from it so a house of illness, and in KAS we call it akin to a black hole. So planets that sit in the 6th house are affected and 6th lord is malefic./// As we know, 6th is the house of enemies and, once again, this implies all enemies...anyone or anything, internally or externally, that has the potential to cause us harm. In this regard 6th is significator for vices (internal enemies). Whether one has the ability to overcome (or not to succumb to) vices; to rise above his competitors or to face many obstacles in life etc., will be seen from this house. ///Now if 6th house is weak, then 11th and 3rd house are eager to give result of 6th or grow the significance. Also shad ripus are denoted by 6th house as well, so 3rd and 11th both being KAM house are helping growing the 6th house. But at the same time if a person is sick and in antra of 3rd and 11th then such a person might help the person to recover more quickly./// This concept is obviously part of Krushna's system (KAS)...unfamiliar to most here, I'm afraid. Perhaps you can show the reasoning behind this...sticking, if possible, to the basic principles of Parashari jyotish. Guest guest
Dear Mrs. Wendy, I also wrote the similar thing in my email I believe. If you are focused on the bad significance of 6th house i.e. shad ripus which is specifically what Bhagwad is referring to there, therefore when read IN THAT context then 3rd and 6th lord will grow those significance. At the same time, I also wrote that for an unemployed person, to get a job, in that case 3rd (interview) and 11th (income) would not be considered bad or malefic event. Therefore I said, that 3,6,10 and 11th being called evil etc is W.R.T the shad ripus and not for anything else. 6th house is for stomach and disease but that also means recovery from disease as well. The same way, 7th house indicates marriage therefore 7th will also show a break up of marriage so 2 sides of the coin. We must focus on both sides of the coin and not just one. Cheers !!! Ash : I agree with you, but at the same time, we must not forget that 6th house also signify good things. It is 11th from 8th, 5th from 2nd, 6th from 1st and 10th from 9th house. It will help grow the significance of houses that is it upchay for. ///Now if 6th house is weak, then 11th and 3rd house are eager to give result of 6th or grow the significance. Perhaps you can show the reasoning behind this...sticking, if possible, to the basic principles of Parashari jyotish. Ash: Upchay is give by Parasara. KAS uses this. The meaning of upchay is growth, heap and prosperity. This is given by Parasara. 3rd and 11th are upchay for 6th house. They will help 6th house grow. This is again the very basic definition of Parasara. 11th and 3rd house are part of Kam Trikon (3rd, 11th and 7th) this is also straight forward and given by Parasara. 11th, 3rd and 7th are 12th from 12th, 4th and 8th (moksh trikon), this can also be implied and given by Parasara. Please do not be in a haste to jump to conclusion of KAS and not using parasara techniques. If you just focus on the meaning of the Sanskrit word “UPCHAY” I think what I have written above will get clear. 3rd and 11th house will help grow 6th house. Guest guest
Dear Ash, ///We must focus on both sides of the coin and not just one./// Precisely! Hence I chose to flip the coin...from employment to enemies. Of course there are other significations to consider also, but probably it would not be wise to dwell any more on this now as we're really not understanding each other very well at this point. ///Therefore I said, that 3,6,10 and 11th being called evil etc is W.R.T the shad ripus and not for anything else./// You seem to have not understand the nature of these bhavas as was discussed previously. 3rd, 6th & 11th bhavas are not considered malefic due to their upachaya status, but rather due to their trishadaya status. 10th does not fall into this category at all and I never, at any time said that 10th lord was evil! The only similarity 10th has with the trishadayas is that they're all upachayas....6th, of course, is also a dusthana (trikasthana).
