Guest guest
Dear Mrs Wendy and Members, I was reading your post on Saddam Hussain's horoscope on JV. My only query regarding that is, that i have heard that if a planet is exalted and retrograde it gets reduced to the state of debilitation. However we dont see that happeing in case of Saddam Hussain as we see he rose to power during Venus dasa. How do i interpret a horoscope with similar planetary conditions (ie being exal. and retro)? Also here the the Birth details of one of the most popular India actress, Being a novice i find it hard to understand her chart, (ie her sun being debilitated in the career house, Jup being debilitated in the first) Could someone kindly throw some light on her chart. Guest guest
||Jai Ramakrishna|| Dear Surbhi, Regarding Retrogression, many classical works, & also some authorities of Astrology opine that " Retrograde planets are very powerful " . Regarding, birth data of Aishwarya Rai, What is the authenticity of the Birthtime? What is the source of birth time? I have one more, showing it as 4:05 am, same day, & same place. Guest guest
Dear Surbhi, ///i have heard that if a planet is exalted and retrograde it gets reduced to the state of debilitation./// This statement is far too simplistic and really cannot be applied without considering the full implications of a planet in retrograde motion. Whether exalted or debilitated it's necessary to have a full understanding of the conditions that apply to the retrograde planet...which can vary from chart to chart. Simplistic statements like the one you've quoted give the impression that what applies to one chart applies to all...this is just not true! FIRST CONSIDERATION: We know that a planet in retrograde motion is not only travelling slower than normal, but is closer to the Earth than when travelling in direct motion. This increases the influence that planet has in the house it occupies...whatever that influence may be (good, bad or indifferent)...see below. BPHS Ch.27 **21-23. PLANETARY MOTIONS (MARS TO SATURN): Eight kinds of motions are attributed to planets. These are Vakra (retrogression), Anuvakra (entering the previous sign in retrograde motion), Vikala (devoid of Motion or in stationary position), Manda (somewhat slower motion than usual), Mandatara (slower than the previous mentioned motion), Sama (somewhat increasing in motion as against Manda), Chara (faster than Sama), and Atichara (entering next sign in accelerated motion). The strengths allotted due to such 8 motions are : 60, 30, 15, 30, 15, 7.5, 45, and 30.** SECOND CONSIDERATION: The degree of exaltation (or debilitation) is an important consideration...especially so when the planet is retrograde. As we know, Venus is considered (technically) exalted at 27deg. Pisces, and, at 28:52deg. (as it is in this chart), Venus is moving away from his degree of exaltation. However, in retrograde motion, Venus is now moving backwards towards that important degree. Let's now consider Venus in sign of debilitation at, say, 26deg Virgo...very close to its highest degree of debilitation. Now if Venus were to turn retrograde it would (technically) be moving away from that fateful degree. This may well be where the over-simplified statement that " a debilitated planet acts as though exalted when retrograde " originated from. THIRD CONSIDERATION: The house who's lord is retrograde suffers or is diminished in some way. Time doesn't permit (at the moment) to find relevant sloka; however, looking at Hussein's chart, we can see ample evidence of this Venus/Saturn conjunction (in 10th). He rose to become one of the world's most authoritarian rulers (dictator), surrounded by unbelievable opulence... But consider 5th bhava (moolatrikona sign for Venus) and how such inner qualities as virtue, good judgement, discretion etc., were greatly diminished (suffered). Being 8th from 10th, 5th also shows one's fall from position. For Hussein this was such a dreadful fall that it would be difficult to believe 5th lord was exalted at all...when a bhava lord is exalted we can expect favourable results for all of its significations. However, in this instance (due to retrogression), it was the most horrific downfall imaginable...he was eventually found hiding in a hole like a scared rabbit...not helped, of course, with Jupiter (karaka for 5th) debilitated in 8th. I'd just like to add here, if I may, that every astrologer looks at a horoscope through their own eyes, and there are as many different perspectives as there are astrologers :-) I can only look through my eyes, and I'm quite sure there must be many who disagree with my perspective. Guest guest
||Jai Ramakrishna|| Deat Surbhi, Certainly!!It is worth-reviewing/re-visiting her birth chart--what made her to rise worldwide, in a such an young age!!!(Yes..she is only 36 now!!!!!)Perhaps her fame can be considered to that of Amitabh Bachchan in present age--however, what matters is the gen-gap. For the past 1-2 years, her involvement in Hollywood Production etc are worth reviewing through her birth horoscope. As everyone knows, she is a college dropout, but once she left college, never looked backwards & intended to complete her graduation.
