Dear Members,

You might like to listen to a Vedic Recitation by 900 Vedic

Pandits...bringing coherence to the atmosphere. It would be good to

download to your desktop and listen whenever time permits...a good remedy

for anyone at anytime. Turn the volume down (not too loud, not too soft),

sit comfortably, close your eyes and be still...enjoy!

Dear VRK, Sanjay and Uttara,

I'm glad you all enjoyed it. I have both the Rik Veda and Sama Veda (on

tape) recited by Vedic pandits. Until recently I would retire to a quiet

corner and listen for 30 mins as part of my daily practice...it's always

a blessing :-)

For some time now I've found it increasingly difficult to grab enough

'quiet time' for myself...hoping that will change!

Best Wishes,

Mrs. Wendy

Dear Mrs Wendy,

Now I could understand the secret of your endurance and reason behind your refreshing ideas along with the consistency of thoughts that owe to your ability to spare time and listen quietly for 30 minuetes every day ot these edic Chants.I can only hats off too and rever to submit my venerations.Certainly you stand as a great leader and we also need to inculcate these exaemplary practices.I am of the opinion however those who devote their attention to find the movements of planets and try for inference also need some time to listen to such great master pieces that helps them lot

Dear Nilesh,

I'm afraid I don't know, sorry! I don't recognise it from my Rik Veda

tapes (ninth and tenth mandala), and it's certainly not from the Sama

Veda. Perhaps someone else can recognise it?

I've had the 900 pandits clip on my desktop for quite some time

now...took the transit of Jupiter into Aquarius (obviously) for me to

decide to send it to the group.

Everything happens at the right time (only) :-))

Best Wishes,

Mrs. Wendy

Dear Nilesh,

My mistake! It is in fact " Purusha Sukta " - the 90th sukta in 10th

Mandala, Astaka 8, adyaya 4 of Rigveda. Rigveda does not identify the

sukta by that name, but 90th sukta came to be known as Purusha Sukta

later on.

The presiding deity of the mantra is Purusha, a collective personality

which pervades the whole universe. Purusha is pure consciousness and the

other part is called Prakriti, which forms the visible world.

Best Wishes,

Mrs. Wendy

Dear Mrs.Wendy,

With my weak n feeble memory (of late!!), I can recollect that the

Slokas/recitations are from Rudra Prasna, perhaps Krishna Yajurveda.

Thank you,

Gaurav.

Dear Gaurav,

Many thanks for that :-)

However I've managed to locate the wmv (non-flash) file which identifies

it as Purusha Sukta. I've uploaded it here

http://jyotishvidya.com/parampara.htm ...scroll down to bottom of page

to the link 'Purusha Sukra 2008.wmv

You can download it to your desktop if you right click the link and

choose 'Save Target As'
