Guest guest
Dear Wendy, I came across your site while surfing the net, i would like to thank you for posting such valuable articles on your site. I have recently started studying astrology through books and i find it very fascinating and hope to develop my skills in this subject. If possible could you please tell me how to interpret the 5th house in the following chart. 6th oct, 1952, 21:20 , india, delhi. I read in one of the books that it is not good to have more than 2 planets in the 5th esp. if they are inimical towards each other. however in this case i find that the moon is exalted in the 1st and 5th lord mercury is in his own sign in the 5th along with sun and saturn. does that make her v intelligent but tempramental?? Thank you very much, Regards Surbhi
Guest guest
Dear Surbhi, Unfortunately I have to be away from the computer for a few hours so can't really get into this chart at the moment. However I would just like to quickly point out that the planets in 5th are functional benefics...see below. BPHS Ch.34 http://jyotishvidya.com/ch34.htm 23-24. FOR TAURUS ASCENDANT: Jupiter, Venus, and the Moon are malefics. Saturn and the Sun are auspicious. Saturn will cause Rajayoga. Mercury is somewhat auspicious, Jupiter etc. and Mars will inflict death. These hints are for Taurus native. This is an interesting chart and if you have no objections I'd like to encourage members to take it up as a 'study chart'. PS: Can you tell me if you're male or female? Guest guest
- A combination of Sun, Mercury and Saturn in the 5th house is a rajyoga. Saturn , for Taurus lagna is a yogkaraka graha, Sun is a kendra lord and Mercury is a Kona lord. Such a combination is extolled by the astrologers. The three planets should not be treated as malefics because they are functional benefics. The fly in the ointment is the combustion of Saturn. Current dasa is of Saturn, and Saturn Antardasa. Saturn can cause loss of someone or something in its own antardasa. Would like to hear more on this, from you. Guest guest
Dear Neena, I do agree with you (and Surbhi) that 5th lord conjunct YogaKaraka Saturn and 4th lord Sun (in 5th) elevates the intelligence of this native. Saturn conjunct 4th lord, inimically placed in this house, may indicate some separation from relatives etc.. I'll refrain from predicting any outcomes and confine my comments to pointing out the relationship between the planets...hopefully this will help Surbhi (and others) to come to a better understanding of the potential evident in this chart. The nakshatra exchange between 4th lord Sun and Moon is worth consideration on several levels. Sun, of course represents both the ego and the soul (big self/small self) whilst 3rd lord Moon, dispositor of Ketu, represents the mind...what does this suggest in regards to the inclinations of mind, confidence and belief, devotion etc.. It's important (also) to take note of Saturn's dispositorship of Rahu who occupies 9th in nakshatra of 12th (moksha) lord Mars in exchange with 8th (moksha) lord Jupiter. Note Mars in nakshatra of Ketu and the mutual aspect between Jupiter and lagnesh Venus. Guest guest
Dear Wendy and Neena, Thank you very much for your comments. Is it possible for any of you ( or any member) to further elaborate on Wendy's last mail regarding: 1. " The nakshatra exchange between 4th lord Sun and Moon is worth consideration on several levels. Sun, of course represents both the ego and the soul (big self/small self) whilst 3rd lord Moon, dispositor of Ketu, represents the mind...what does this suggest in regards to the inclinations of mind, confidence and belief, devotion etc.. " It's important (also) to take note of Saturn's dispositorship of Rahu who occupies 9th in nakshatra of 12th (moksha) lord Mars in exchange with 8th(moksha) lord Jupiter. Note Mars in nakshatra of Ketu and the mutual aspect between Jupiter and lagnesh Venus. " 3. Another quiery i would like clarified is regarding saturn, even though saturn is a yoga karaka, during its dasha the native is more likely to lose someone or somthing? does the role of being a yoga karak end in the chart? being a yoga karak shouldnt a native experience more positive results regarding the houses it rules or occupies during its dasha or antar dasha? Being very new to this subject, I feel a lot of my concepts arent very clear. For eg till now i have just been looking at the signs the planets occupy and not the nakshatras. I havnt really come across a book that tells how planets behave in particular nakshatras? Any suggestions how i can improve my skills? For eg till now i have just been looking at the signs the planets occupy and not the nakshatras. I havnt really come across a book that tells how planets behave in particular nakshatras? Any suggestions how i can improve my skills?/// The nakshatra in which a planet sits is very important. For instance, this particular native (study chart) is running the dasa of Saturn who sits in the nakshatra (constellation) of Chitra (1st pada) which is lorded by Mars, indicating that the underlying motivation of Saturn is influenced by Mars. It's said that the nakshatras represent the abodes into which the fruits of our labor (our karma) is transferred and stored... Guest guest
PS: I might just quickly give another example, if I may. In my own chart, dasa lord Mercury occupies nakshatra of Moon who sits in 10th house; denoting that the underlying motivation of Mercury (intellect, learning, education, communication, writing etc) is influenced by Moon/10th...communicating with the public. If Mercury was in another constellation or Moon in another bhava the outcome (the mode through which Mercury finds expression) would be different. So, we see (hopefully) that the nakshatras are a very important consideration. ___ Dear Surbhi, ///Being very new to this subject, I feel a lot of my concepts arent very clear. Guest guest
- Dear Wendy, Your analysis on the basis of nakshatra is really good. Considering nakshatras in judging the state of planets in your predictions , you have been able to very successfully give the results. Guest guest
Dear Wendy,//For instance, this particular native (study chart) is running the dasa of Saturn who sits in the nakshatra (constellation) of Chitra (1st pada) which is lorded by Mars, indicating that the underlying motivation of Saturn is influenced by Mars.//This is very true, specially in this case where Saturn is combust. Hence, Saturn's own capabilities are subdued and influence of the other planets that influence it either by conjunction or disposition dominate over its natural strength. Hence, in the dasha of Saturn, it will show the colors of Mars, Mercury, Sun and Rahu predominently. Guest guest
Dear Member, Besides, what Mrs. Wendy and other members wrote, permit me to write a few lines over your question. A planet derives strength from the condition of its house(s) it owns. Being the 9th and 10th lord, Saturn becomes the Yogakaraka. He becomes strong when he is sitting in his own house or exalted or in its friends house. This is a general rule. Aquarius is his Moolatrikona sign for Saturn. His placement from Aquarius is adverse. He goes to the 8th house from his own sign of activities. Hence his condition to give the results are now modified by the other influences in the chart. (of course his placement from Lagna and Moon is fine, a trikona). Further, the 11th lord is the gains personified. The Jupiter is the karka for wealth. He is retrograde. From the significator wealth also, Saturn the yogakaraka is placed adversely. A planet generally does not give its promised results in its own sub-period, this again is a general rule. The MD lord generally gives its promised results during the sub period of planets who are its friends in the chart. This could help you to some extent. You wrote: ****3. Guest guest
Dear Neena, Surbhi and all, I'd like to elaborate on the comments I made regarding the moksha influence in this chart... Looking further at the two malefic (moksha) bhavas (8/12), I've come to understand them more as portals to moksha which we may or may not choose to surrender to. It's said that death is the greatest portal; but there are (other) times in our lives that we may find these portals capable of opening. It's said that, in the case of extreme loss or suffering, we can find ourselves, forced by our total inability to find a resolution, involuntarily letting go completely and, by the grace of God, enter a portal and transcend the field of mental activity which binds us to the ego. Many here have spoken of the role of suffering in leading us to the ultimate realisation of our true self; and when we look at this in terms of the significations of these moksha bhavas we can perhaps understand the true benevolence of Saturn, karaka for 8th and 12th bhavas :-) Of course no-one wants to suffer. We all want happiness and a comfortable existence, but sometimes (no, always) the grahas know what's best for us :-)) Best Wishes, Mrs. Wendy http://JyotishVidya.com ___ - " Mrs. Wendy " <jyotishvidya <jyotish-vidya > Sunday, April 26, 2009 12:07 PM Re: Re: 3 malefics in the 5th Dear Neena, I do agree with you (and Surbhi) that 5th lord conjunct YogaKaraka Saturn and 4th lord Sun (in 5th) elevates the intelligence of this native. Just as one might transcend this karmic reality/unreality via the 8th/12th moksha bhavas, so one can transcend beyond this materialistic existence during deep devotional prayer. Do you recall the experiences of Paramahansa Yogananda (and other great saints) whilst in deep devotional prayer to Divine Mother etc.. _________________________________ Dear Ravindramani, These mysterious bhavas have unfathomable depths.
