Guest guest
Uttara ji, ///Anyone have a chart or charts with Jupiter natal in Capricorn that will be most affected by this transit?/// I do, but more importantly, we should look at people who will be running MD/AD/PD of Guru in 2009, when Guru is neecha. IMHO, even if somebody has uccha Guru in birth chart, he/she will have problems if he/she is running Guru's periods in 2009. I have Guru in Makara in birth chart, but I have noticed Guru being extremely nasty to me when he is uccha. There is a festival in India that is celebrated every 12 years when Guru moves into Simha. I don't know what it is called, but I celebrate when Guru moves out of Kataka! :-) ~~~~~~~~~ Balaji Narasimhan Author & Editor http://www.balaji.ind.in/ ~~~~~~~~~
Guest guest
Hello Uttara Ji, Long time to have got myself involved as time at my disposal suddenly put me into hectic schedules. Thanks to my lagna lord jupiter and his departting influences in to my 2nd house, the rasi sign. So I put my inklings on an issue which is of importance to many and to me more personally as my moon too is in capricorn. with natal jupiter in 10th house (of libra),the transit results of jupiter together with Rahu in capricorn supposed to make very ineresting from mundane perspective.Let's see how Govts transform their workings ahead. Capricorn being an earthy sign and with jupiter presence is supposed to invogerate sentiments and religious feelings.iam worried about rahu association in transit as in makara it may not lead to disgusting state of things.Likely however to mislead and put in bad company. Saturn as lord of makara gives orientation to look from practical perspective. These are my present feelings and members may have better views reagrds vrkrishnan --- On Wed, 12/10/08, Uttara <muttaraphalguni wrote: Uttara <muttaraphalguni Jupiter Transit into Capricorn jyotish-vidya Wednesday, December 10, 2008, 8:34 PM Tuesday, this week, December 9th, 2008 Jupiter moved into its debilitation sign Capricorn. Guest guest
Dear friend, I prefer to write the following few lines in the group, though you sent to your question to my personal mailbox since a similar thread is currently active in the group. Let me put my views about the transit results of Jupiter published in weekly magazines and newspapers. They are so general in nature and mostly based on the position of Jupiter from the Moon sign, without taking into account that the placement of Jupiter in the natal chart. (His strength and lordships and the current dasha one enjoys etc.) Hence need not worry about them much. Moreover, when you consider the Jupiter's transit, it is desirable to examine from the position of Lagna proper also. I take your Lagna i.e. Leo and explain how I view this transit. I am doing this without taking the dashas into account since you have not provided me the full data. Consider the lordships. Jupiter rules 5th and 8th Houses. He just moved to 6th house from Lagna. 5th lord is progeny. He moved the house of disputes or quarrels from your Lagna. From there he influences the 10th house (actions), 12th house (loss) and 2nd house (speech). Your Lagna lord Sun is in 11th house from Lagna. From the Sun he is in 8th. The possible conclusion would be " you should speak to your progeny or do your actions towards them (Son or Daughter) with caution " . Your words should not be construed as criticism by your progeny. Since Jupiter rules the 5th and 8th, he may put you in such a situation, your action or speech may lead to a undesirable situation (strained relationship) between you and your progeny. If you are running an adverse dasha and the planets connected with these houses, you may feel the heat of Jupiter. I have taken one signification and explained how you can view the transit in a day to day basis. You do other significations attached with Jupiter and his position from other planets. Do the same exercise from the position of Moon also. Hope this would help to some extent. Regards, C.S. Ravindramani

If so lets take a look at it for study. Global or personal. I am in Jupiter /Mercury at present, with Capricorn Lagna and Jupiter therefore owning the 3rd and 12th. He occupies the 10th (Libra). I would be interested in any analysis you have on this considering the new transit habitation of Jupiter in Capricorn. Thus far (about 4 years into the Jupiter period) I have found that Jupiter as the 12th Lord is giving opportunities for great expansion, which are very easily taken too far or without reservation and thus lead to great pains and loss, and then finally come to a beneficial resolve. I think perhaps for the Capricorns among us we should be particularly watchful since our lagnesh is currently in Leo, which is our 8th House - as well as Jupiter our 12th Lord visiting our 1st House. - Vic DiCara
Guest guest
Vic, I think this is an excellent observation and one that should be explored more. I feel that the Jupiter transit this next year is going to be quite volatile for most. Transiting Capricorn itself, will weaken a lot of Capricorn's authority and business acumen. Government too, I feel will be effected negatively also because of Jupiter's debilitation and conjunct Rahu. Now when we add Jupiter Maha Dasa's running or how as you pointed out Saturn's transit in Leo which in your case is 8th house, dusthana, one can see how Jupiter will effect in many different ways. Too, Lagna Leo/Su with Saturn transit will be 6th and 8th from Capricorn's Sa Lord with Jupiter and Rahu transits there. So in essence one can see the importance of Jupiter's transit in Capricorn for everyone until 12/20/2009. All will be effected, however, some more negatively than others. Interesting that you noticed when Jupiter was transiting your 12hse Sag/Ju that you found the effects of Jupiter to be expansive and lucky in the beginning but then start to unravel later. That's a very interesting point! My son has 7th hse Capricorn, so this past year his Jupiter transit was in his 6th hse of work, health, open enemies etc. He graduated from College, moved to pursue his career but is finding it more difficult than what he was to believe. Now with the economic fallout out he like everyone else is greatly feeling the pinch. I think too, that it is interesting that Jupiter's transit is falling into Capricorn/Sa to wake people up. I think it is the beginning of a lot of Change and a lot of failures that if other pundits are correct will accumulate into a complete breakdown of the American Economy by 2012. that time frame would take Jupiter from Capricorn/Sa through Aqu/Sa rebellion and social change, Pi/Ju illusion and religious beliefs and if aggravated picky and Critical like Virgo and then into Aries/Ma to try and claim back authority and individualism with a passion along with opposite aspect of Libra, Law and balance. In Aries too, a dusthana house for Cap/Sa Lagna. For all, 12th hse from Jupiter's aspect of Taurus. Always, Uttara p.s. would you like to give birth details for the list of Jupiter, for continued study? Guest guest
Thanks for your reply, Uttara. Very interesting, your tie-in to 2012. Regarding myself - I am July 27, 1970 at 19:38 in Bay Shore, NY. Regarding the interesting effect of Jupiter as a 12th Lord transiting the 12th House during his Mahadasha... I personally analyze it this way: Jupiter is the benefic expander... I experienced expansion during this period and much opportunity. However Jupiter is my 12th Lord and that was amplified by his being in transit of my 12th House. So his beneficence and expansions wound up being the catalyst of great pains and loss (now, I must note that this was a Jupiter/Saturn period - with the two of them in mutual 7ths, about 160º apart, while Jupiter transited the 12th and Saturn transited the 8th). BUT, (and I attribute this to (1) Jupiter being intrinsically benefic and (2) Saturn being my lagnesh) the END RESULT of the Jupiter/Saturn period (which was nearly concurrent with the ingress of Jupiter into Capricorn) was POSITIVE. " Greatly positive " in a 12th House Jupiter sort of way: Tremendous expansion of wisdom and knowledge and better sense of humility and selflessness. Which, as I have heard, seems to be a general principle: When benefit planets have to represent negative karma by lordship of other factors - they tend to bring the negativity first and help it to resolve into an outcome which is beneficial in the end. -- Regarding Jupiter's ingress into Capricorn. I'm probably crazy, but I welcomed it and was waiting for it expectantly. I really wanted Jupiter to get out of being so strong in his own rootsign in my 12th House during his dasha. I would rather have him weak in a good house than strong in a bad house. Do you agree? Why or why not? - Vic jyotish-vidya , Uttara <muttaraphalguni wrote: > > Vic, I think this is an excellent observation and one that should be explored more. Guest guest
hello uttara ji and others, In this discussion we are trying to analyse pros and cons of jupiter's entry into capricorn sign. That way, probably we are counting on 30% of the results to fructify or otherwise during dasas of various natives based on moon chart and the results accruing to the natives on account of lagna chart too. Interestingly when jupiter passes through 12 th house and happens to be of capricorn, you can anticipate for travles un expectedly, some insecurity concerns and health problems. One has to be very cautious from swimming/driving etc. Some rewards too are not uncommon. may be in this context to have detailed views from Varshaphal charts through Tazik and analysis of Muntha based on solar ingression too will be useful in delineation. vrkrishnan --- On Mon, 12/15/08, Uttara <muttaraphalguni wrote: Uttara <muttaraphalguni Re: Re: Jupiter Transit into Capricorn jyotish-vidya Monday, December 15, 2008, 12:40 PM Vic, I think this is an excellent observation and one that should be explored more. The principle is: When a malefic has good results to bestow (due to lordship or interaction with other planets) he waits till the end of his cycle to do so. When a benefic has bad results to bestow she waits till the end of her cycle to bestow them. Thus the general principle is that when a planet has to bestow results that are not aligned with it's inherent nature, the planet will be reluctant and thus postpone giving the results. The exception is when those results are teased out prematurely by an appropriate transit or bhukti lord (as was my case, perhaps, by the Jupiter /Saturn dasha/bhukti). The END RESULT of WHATEVER a planet bestows will ALWAYS wind up being in line with the planet's natal placement. - Vic

July 3, 1985 Highland Park, Illinois USA 8:16 (5 w GMT) this includes an adjustment for DST Lahiri ASC: 21* Cancer/Mo Nakshatra Ashlesha, Star Lord Mercury, sub Lord Sun current Maha Dasha: RA RA MA until 12/31/2008 then RA JU JU Always, Uttara " " " 'Three things that cannot be long hidden: the Sun, the Moon and the truth " Guatama Buddha

I test to see if I understand shastric principles correctly by verifying them in esperiential practice NOW HERE IS SOMETHING VERY INTERESTING I've been examining my own dashas in an attempt to go deeper into the arts of prediction. My own Marriage occured in my Rahu/Ketu period!!! Of all the periods for a marriage!?!?!? My Rahu has a large Jupiterian potential because Jupiter is his main aspector. Also, at the onset of the Rahu dasha Jupiter was transiting my natal Rahu. At the onset of the Rahu / Ketu d/b Jupiter was in Sagittarius (my 12th) with the moon EXACTLY opposite in mutual aspect in the Gemini (my 6th). Interesting that the Moon and Jupiter were 7 signs from one another at the onset of the dasha. Now let me state clearly that this rahu/ketu period was one of the most painful and trying times in my life - very very frustrating. BUT at the end of it I emerged with a wonderful wife. WHY??? Note the potential inherent in the ingress transit of Jupiter and Moon in mutual 7ths. Now, here comes the kicker as it related to the existing conversation of Jupiter's transit into Capricorn... On the actual day I proposed marriage and got an acceptance of the proposal, Jupiter and the Moon were AGAIN in a mutual 7th position! But this time Jupiter was in Capricorn and the Moon in Cancer - my 1st and 7th houses. WOW! Aside from the very specific details... it adds to my confidence that I don't like when Jupiter is in Sagittarius and I do like when he is in Capricorn... as backward as that sounds on the surface. Guest guest
Rahu is a marriage giver. Guest guest
In certain old Tamil treatises on astrology, like Jambu Maharishi Vakyam & Jyotisha Thandava Maalai, the dasha of Rahu is praised for giving marriage. When I was studying astrology systematically, my Teacher taught me Rahu is a marriage giver like Venus. Regards, C.S. Guest guest
Dear Group, A happy New Year to everyone and my apologies for my long absence. I've only now managed to get connected to the internet (on a borrowed computer after mine failed completely last week). Lost a lot of files unfortunately, but some I had managed to save on disk, thank God! Am running late to have a dressing change so must away for now, but, at least, am back on line again. Really feeling the effect of Jupiter transit, that's for sure...
