However, for amputation and/or other serious problems related to feet, there needs to be some affliction indicated in Rasi. In the case of the amputee (you put forward), Saturn's dispositor (debilitated 8th/11th lord Mercury) conjuncts 12th lord in 6th from 12th etc.. Everyone goes through Sadhesati several times in their life, but not everyone suffers severe problems with their feet. I myself have been through two such periods with no apparent problems (in this regard). However the 3rd Sadhesati cycle, coming up in Sep. 2009, may present some problems with Tr 12th lord Jupiter in sign of debilitation during the first dhayya. Though two benefics are present there, both are retrograde and one is debilitated too. However, 12th bhava does not seem to be afflicted in this chart. I have been following your dicussions on sade sati and problems with legs with much interest.. In april 1999. I was undergoing the 2 phase of sadesati with shani and sun in mesha(my moonsign) aspected by retro mars(in libra). Jupiter and mercury were in pisces at that time (transit positions) From lagna, sun and shani was in 5th house, retro mars in 11th house and jupiter/mercury in 4th house.. I was then pregnant and had dislocated by right hip, was unable to move around etc and spent about a year in a wheelchair. It was a difficult and traumatic period, but by the grace of God, I made full and complete recovery. In your case, the problem of hips could be due to the fact that both Mercury and 6L Venus are in RKA. And, you experienced the problem during Rah-Mer period. I am not able to see the connection of Saturn to this. It's now getting quite late here now (past midnight with daylight saving in Perth). So I'll have to be very brief for now as I have three appointments tomorrow and will have to get up earlier than usual to organise my day properly... Putting forward websites that have contradictory views can only lead to confusion...something I wish to avoid here as much as possible. Maharishi Parasara was a rare sage, a seer; an enlightened rishi who cognised the breadth and depth of jyotish from an expanded state of awareness rarely seen (even) in the most pious souls today. Many exuberant astrologers, carried away by the knowledge they've gained, feel themselves fit to develop their own ideas...usually contradicting the wisdom of ancient rishis that's been passed down through the ages. Of course they're perfectly free to do so! Everyone plays out their own karma, whatever that may be. But on this group (if nowhere else) I would hope that the wisdom of Parasara would not be diminished by the contradictory ideas of over-zealous astrologers...found in abundance on the WWW.
