Guest guest
Dear Members: Today I saw the following striking omen - In the north west, over the pacific ocean, there was a thunder storm (very rare for this area). Meanwhile there was 50% or more blue open sky with bright sunshine (morning time). The thunderclouds were very Shyama-Krishna dark. There was an EXTREMELY strong rainbow for a very long time. This rainbow had up to 3 " octaves " visible (repition of red-yellow- purple pattern 3 times!). For a good amount of time there were in fact TWO separate rainbows in the sky. The main rainbow was almost fully complete from the western horizon to the northern horizon. There was no rain. There were some roosters crowing. The feeling was peaceful and auspicious. Does anyone know where to get information regarding the interpretation of such omens, or would anyone like to venture and interpretation for the sake of education on how it is done? Guest guest
Dear Vic, Omens certainly have a place in prediction and you're right to bring this up. As I was taught, the astrologer should take into account certain conditions (omens) at the time a native approaches him/her for a reading. However the area of omens is not something I've delved into deeply. Perhaps some other member may be more familiar with this than I am :-) PS: I do think that was a good omen (for you). Guest guest
I believe as one evolves as an astrologer, we can understand intuitively the environment - people, events, and our own destiny, and may leave behind the tools of our trade and access the source directly. The Indulgent Man, could be symbolic of the senses totally out of control, destroying itself. The Old Lady, could represent The Grandmother goddess " Dumavathi " (dhuma - smoke - the man was smoking), she represents the ultimate end we all have to face. Since she has come with a broom, 'a cleansing' could occur. Now all this happened at the time of Sunrise (?), then a new day of hope and optimism awaits you, after the dross and ugly are cleansed by the eternal cycle of life and death. Guest guest
May I speak on behalf of the neighbours! They too are in the grip of karma! In Holy scripture we're taught... " Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. " I have neighbours living very close to me who, due to their drug problem (addicted to ice, I believe), made life a hell on earth most of the time. Cars screaming in and out at all hours of the day and night; running over my sprinklers and breaking my little fence over and over again until I gave up trying to fix them. Police being called continuously because of the violence. One even threatened me when I went outside to tell them to stop it. I had a roller blind fitted to my bedroom window so I could get some sleep at night. I was filled with rage at these two girls (lesbians) most of the time and just wanted to see them gone from my neighbourhood. However, it seemed to me that the angrier I became, the worse their behaviour. I reached a stage where I began to feel terribly sorry for them and the torment of their lives. I approached them one day (many months ago) and, speaking from my heart, I told them if there was ever anything I could do to help, to please let me know. I had the greatest desire to make them a pot of hot soup (or something). From that moment my anger diminished and slowly their violent behaviour began to decrease. They still live tormented lives and still have violent arguements, but they do try to respect the peace and things are much calmer. Now, if they happen to be outside when I'm out in the garden, they'll wave and ask me how I am. Sadly, the police came and took one of them away a few days ago. I don't know if she came back or not. I can only feel the greatest compassion for these girls. The torment of their sad lives I cannot imagine. Another relevant passage that springs to mind... " But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. I notice whenever the neighbours come to know I have some knowlege in astrology, their behaviour entirely changes. I should thankful to Parashara. Guest guest
Dear Vic, Just read all the interesting posts in response to the topic you initiated. In most Hindu panchangas there is a section on " Akash Lakshan " and " Shakun Vichar " . These are related to weather outcomes and commodity trades (this could relate to economic conditions?). How accurate these are I am not sure and whether these are valid to Indian region only or are universal is not clear. I will give an example from one of the old panchangas I have: Referring to the Shukla Paksha of Margashirsha month of year 2006(21 Nov to 4 December) it says, " If in this fortnight at the time of Dhanista nakshatra there is thundering of clouds then the people will be troubled by illnesses. If a rainbow is sighted then good rainfall is predicted in the coming days " . How far this works I am not sure. This is a branch of astrology and there should be some books dealing with this specifically. Some members from India I am sure can add to this. All the best, Neena jyotish-vidya , Vic D <vicdicara wrote: > > Dear Members: > > Today I saw the following striking omen - > > In the north west, over the pacific ocean, there was a thunder storm > (very rare for this area). Guest guest
Dear Ravindramani, ///Our charts and the dasha running clearly show the kind of neighbours we should live with./// Absolutely! And not forgetting, of course, karaka for 3rd (Mars). Unfavourable transits of either 3rd lord, his dispositor and/or karaka can doubtlessly effect our relationship with neighbours at any given time...
