Guest guest
Dear Vic, I see the following problems in the chart: - Lagna has both Mars and Saturn in it. Both occupy nakshatra of Ketu who is the co-lord of 12th house - 4th house is severely afflicted. It is under papakaratari. It disposits both 6L Venus and 8L Moon. In addition, is being aspected by 12L Mars. Thereby 4th house is influenced by all the three dusthana lords The problems could be related to head and the heart, most likely severe heart related problem. The dasha lord Mercury is retrograde and hosts 6L Venus in constellation. Guest guest
Dear Krishna and Vic, Both Capricorn and 10th house are associated with 'skin disease'. Note, in this native's chart, Rx Mercury (responsible for formation of skin...Sapta Dhatu) owns 10th and occupies Capricorn. Mercury's dispositor (Saturn), inimically placed in lagna, is conjunct lagnesh Jupiter's dispositor (Mars). Saturn, dispositor of Mercury, is a F/M for this ascendant. Dryness/flakiness can be attributed by Saturn...redness/itchiness/inflammation may be attributed to Mars. This native was born during dasa of SA-VE-SA-RA...perhaps other members might like to discuss the significance of this, particularly as Parashara attributes killing powers to Venus (for this Asc)... Guest guest
Good observations, Krishna. Thank you for participating! The native has Ichthyosis which is a disease that causes the skin to become scale-like, like a fish, and tends to ooze, etc. The native " died " at birth and was dead for up to 10-15 minutes before reviving. Note the number of planets in Gandanta... the ascendant, the ascendant lord and the Sun (navamsha). Note the lack of planets above the horizon. Note (as you have) the overpowering affect of Mars and Saturn on the already severely weakened ascendant. Note that Saturn additionally aspects the Sun with EXTREME power. Finally note that Jupiter from vargottama Aries and Asvini (medical miracles) tightly aspects the ascendant. It may yet be that a heart disorder will also arise. Guest guest
Dear Vic, ///Nevertheless (pertaining to unquoted portions of your email) I feel that Venus, Mercury and Jupiter are friends of this person. Jupiter especially./// As per BPHS (Ch.34) http://jyotishvidya.com/ch34.htm 37-38. SAGITTARIUS ASCENDANT: *Only Venus is inauspicious. Mars and the Sun are auspicious. The Sun and Mercury are capable of conferring a yoga. Saturn is a killer. Jupiter is neutral. Venus acquires killing powers. These effects are for Sagittarius ascendant.* This is relevant considering the dasa at birth (SA-VE-SA-RA) in light of the fact that, as you said, the native " died " at birth and was dead for up to 10-15 minutes before reviving. The aspect of lagna lord Jupiter on lagna is indicative of divine intervention, no doubt. Note, JU, SA, MA and Lagna all occupy nakshatra of Ketu. An indication of the extraordinary conditions at birth... Ketu's occupancy of 9th bhava (again) shows the support of the divine...9th house; support of nature, solutions to problems etc.. Again note sookshmantar lord Rahu in nakshatra of Jupiter and conjunct 9th lord Sun. Relative to this skin disease is the affliction of lagna (and) lagna lord's dispositor (Mars) by the dire malefic Saturn, who, as dispositor of Rx 10th lord Mercury, carries to lagna the physiological indications/disease associated with 10th bhava (and his own sign Capricorn). Both the sign Capricorn and 10th bhava are afflicted...Capricorn because it's lord is inimically placed in lagna, and 10th bhava because it's lord (Mercury) occupies Capricorn. Note also that 10th lord Mercury occupies nakshatra of 8th lord Moon who, himself, sits in nakshatra of Saturn... There can be no doubt that Capricorn and 10th bhava both indicate skin disease, see here; http://jyotishvidya.com/prikriti.htm which can manifest if either house is afflicted. I think the affliction is clear to see and the fact that Mercury himself, owning 10th whilst occupying Capricorn, is responsible for the formation of skin (Sapta Dhatu), leaves little doubt (in my mind) of the diagnosis of skin disease. However, I'll say no more on this and leave others to form their own opinion. Guest guest
Dear Mrs. Wendy, Regarding Venus and Mercury for this native. I feel that they are his friends. You pointed out that Parashara states that Venus is an inauspicious lord (owning 6 and 11). Let me explain my feelings on this chart with a crude analogy that springs to mind. I apologize if it is inappropriate, but hopeful it will confer my reasoning. Say you lined up nine girls for me to choose from, and I have to pick one. One of them, whose name started with " Ve " ;-) was cute, but had something odd about here that didn't seem to be all that great. I was just about to chose the girl I liked when suddenly 7 of the 9 started coughing up mucus and vomiting from aids, leaving only " Ve " and another as they were originally. Suddenly Ve looks a LOT better and that " inauspicious thing " about her doesn't seem all that important anymore. > Relative to this skin disease is the affliction of lagna (and) lagna > lord's dispositor (Mars) by the dire malefic Saturn, who, as > dispositor > of Rx 10th lord Mercury, carries to lagna the physiological > indications/disease associated with 10th bhava (and his own sign > Capricorn). Both the sign Capricorn and 10th bhava are > afflicted...Capricorn because it's lord is inimically placed in lagna, > and 10th bhava because it's lord (Mercury) occupies Capricorn. I agree that the 10th House causes skin diseases, but in this case I do not find the 10th house to be afflicted in comparison to the rest of the chart. The 10th Sign, Capricorn receives no malefic aspects or occupants. The 10th House yes, I see 2 malefics aspecting it. The ruler of the 10th is not conjunct or aspected by a malefic. Saturn, the lord of the 10th Sign is conjunct a malefic, yes. To me the focus of pain in this chart is right on the ascendant and the sun. The ascendant is in Gandanta. The ascendant ruler is in Gandanta. The ascendant is conjunct two BAD malefics. Both the ascendant and it's ruler are in Ketu Nakshatras, a malefic, who is in pain past the 29th degree. If I didn't know this person I would not have predicted skin disease, though. I admit that. But I would have predicted dire health problems and terrible combination of pitta-vata disease, I would also predict a heart failure is quite likely. > I think the affliction is clear to see and the fact that Mercury > himself, > owning 10th whilst occupying Capricorn, is responsible for the > formation > of skin (Sapta Dhatu), leaves little doubt (in my mind) of the > diagnosis > of skin disease. How do you spot that? Is it just because the owner of the Nth house is in the Nth sign? For example, if the owner of the 12th house were in pisces would you have little doubt of diagnosing stomach disease? I would think you need afflictions from malefics. Guest guest
Dear Vic, I agree with most of your observations and thanks for the details about the native. I have a couple of questions as well: //Note the number of planets in Gandanta... // What is the window size you would consider for gandanta? I use about 1 degree on either side of the junction. If one uses one nakshatra pada on either side, it should be about 50', less than one degree. After reading Mrs. Wendy's mail, I see that skin disease as a clear possibility, though I missed to notice it earlier: 1. Retrograde Mercury in the star of 8L Moon 2. Both Capricorn and Mercury are in papakartari 3. 10H receives the aspect of 8L Moon Regards, Krishna --- On Thu, 25/9/08, Vic D <vicdicara wrote: Vic D <vicdicara Re: Chart Study jyotish-vidya Thursday, 25 September, 2008, 10:51 PM Good observations, Krishna. Though Venus and Mercury become temporarily friends to the Lagna Lord Jupiter, I am of the view that Venus would tend to behave as a malefic towards Jupiter in the instant chart becuuse of other forces operating in this chart. As Krishna observed, this chart is prone to high blood pressure and malfunctioning of heart. Note the 5th house from the Sun that receives the aspect of two natural malefics Saturn and Sun. The Mercury is retrograde and owns the 5th and 8th house and placed in 12th from Sun. This Sun is aspected by the Saturn powerfully. We know the functions of Sun in a chart. The Rasi Leo is with Ketu. If we analyze the chart from Moon, the tenth house is afflicted by two malefics Saturn and Mars. The retro Mercury in the 11th house of diseases, (from 6th to 6th) placed in the house of Saturn very well justifies the skin disease. We are considering the Moon as Lagna (the body) who is in the constellation of Saturn again justifies the skin disease. The real culprits seem to be Saturn and Mercury. The third and eighth lord Venus who is with Moon well justify the initial death condition of 15 minutes immediately after the birth took place. The dasha was of SAT/VEN/SAT. The situation was really came under the control because of Vargottama Jupiter at the time of birth. Thanks for this chart Vic. I would like to go through the chart leisurely in the weekend. Regards, C.S. Ravindramani.
Guest guest
Dear Krishna, Thanks for the email. It was quite clear, I appreciate that. > What is the window size you would consider for gandanta? I use about > 1 degree on either side of the junction. If one uses one nakshatra > pada on either side, it should be about 50', less than one degree. The lessons I encountered from 3 or 4 different teachers said to induce one navamsha, not one navamsha pada. Note that one navamasha IS one nakshatra pada. So in other words I include one nakshatra pada (equivalent to one navamsha) on either side of the border as the " gandanta zone " . Thus the entire zone is 6º40 " , 3º20 " on either side of the sandhi/ juncture/border. IMO. > After reading Mrs. Wendy's mail, I see that skin disease as a clear > possibility, though I missed to notice it earlier: > > 1. Retrograde Mercury in the star of 8L Moon > 2. Both Capricorn and Mercury are in papakartari > 3. 10H receives the aspect of 8L Moon Your email helped me to see that too. Thank you.
