Guest guest
I've gotten further with it... Sha, ri, ga, ma, pa, dha, ni are the sapta-swara or seven notes of the Vedic octave. There are 22 shurtis or quartersteps. Sha has 4, ri has 3, ga has 2, ma has 4... pa has 3, dha has 2, ni has 4. Anyway... astrologically 1,5,7 is a group (fire), 2,6,8 is a group (earth), 3,7,11 is a group (air) and 4,8,12 is a group (water)... these groups exist within the shrutis of vedic music too, identically, but I've yet to figure out how to represent it on western instruments or exactly what it means musically. Also, there are 7 chakras... 7 notes, 7 chakras... a planet and it's signs connect with each chakra... The root chakra is saturn and it's signs Capricorn and Aquarius - the note here is Sha, which is 230cycles or just sharp of the A below middle C. The next chakra is the sexual one, and it's Jupiter (expansion) and his signs, Pisces and Sagittarius... the note here is Ri.. etc. etc. what I think I need to do now is take a class or get some sort of education specifically on vedic ragas and music theory. Any advice? Also, The bassist in my band does music therapy with Autistic children. What I am thinking is that he gives me the birth data for one of the kids he works with. I'll identify the causes of the problems in the chart, and then he can center his therapy on those notes.???? I want to work with chords, etc. combining planetary influences. Guest guest
Dear Sir, If 5th happens to be fire,Isit not 7th air 8th water and 9th fire so on so forth. Astrology having roots in vedas, music too has it's roots in Vedas. For music part of Samaveda and then mantras part of yajurveda have conveyed many things for the communities.Further explorations from time to time, focused many issues. These developments feasible with changing times and culture need also to be propogated,by adopting in our day to day life. One of the greattest invention could be the usefulness to correct many problems of mind and body. Basically Chakras or energy centers in human systems paved way for treatment through colours as well as accupressure. we have many holistic approaches that can help in modern medical age for quick recuperation and prevention too --- On Thu, 8/14/08, Vic D <vicdicara wrote: Vic D <vicdicara Astrological Music Therapy " Jyotish Vidya " <jyotish-vidya > Thursday, August 14, 2008, 12:03 PM I've gotten further with it...
