Guest guest
Dear List, Calculating a person's life span or learning to shortlist the marakas in a chart per se is not wrong. It is absolutely essential to find out the marakas in a chart and watch their behaviour in a chart, for a considerable period. That gives you the idea and the ability to identify the nature of the planets, how they behave or give their results in their sub periods and in appropriate major periods. If we know and identify the marakas, then easily you can find out the on set of diseases or unfortunate periods such as accident, theft and litigation. *Maraka* does not mean he is going to kill you - as science and medicines developed so much so that the period of Maraka could prove a period of adverse and of simply disease giving, at the most. Since we have only two benefics ( Jupiter and Venus) and the rest are partly beneficial ( Moon and Mercury are to behave according to their placement and associations) and fully malefics (Saturn, Mars, Sun, Rahu and Ketu. All nine planets can take the role of Maraka as per the lagna rising. Life is not only the roses - less roses - more of thorns, so, less favourable periods and more periods of trials and tribulations. Out of that periods, a person is really, realize his worth and learn the essential wisdom of life. In fact, at a glance, there are enough combinations suggested by the sages, to arrive at the length of life span, approximately in a chart. There are number of mathematical methods are available for further fine tuning. An astrologer should do this and go for examination of other yogas. If the native is falls under the category of " Alpayu " and an astrologer predicts that at the age of 50, the native will become a millionaire because the yogakaraka dasha is coming at the age of 50. Classics nowhere forbid the astrologers to calculate the longevity. It is the astrologer's duty how to spell out the adversary periods, in appropriate language, in a befitting manner and to the native's kith and kin, if necessary, if it is an undesirable prediction. The first and most important factor, to be kept in mind is that to whom you are giving your prediction. However, I strongly in favour of the view that no delicate predictions (such as life span or the date of death or a fatal accident etc..) should be given on Internet to anybody even he claims he is an astrologer or having a sound knowledge of astrological principles. You should have the personal interaction with the native concerned for a reasonable period. Regards, C.S. Ravindramani.
