Dear Members:

 

Brothers can get married in the same year. There is no spiritual

injunction against that. Only thing is, brothers born of the same

mother should not get married in the same muhurtha. If even one

rithu (season of 2 months) lapses, it is alright.

 

But, if marriage for 2 brothers takes place in the same year, the

Sumangali praarthana, Kula Devataa samaarathanaa and other such

rituals celebrated in association with the marriage should be done

only once (i.e. common for both the marriages).

 

If a good muhurtha is not available in different months of the year

and due to practical necessities, the two brothers have to get

married within the same paksha (fortnight), then there is a remedy

suggested in dharma shaastra......they should get married in two

different places with a Mahaanadi (like Cauvery, Krishna,

Tungabhadra, Ganga, Narmada) separating the two places. Of course,

this is " Aapad Dharma " to be followed only under unavoidable

circumstances.
