Guest guest
Dear Mrs Wendy, Thank you so much for posting the birth details of the Lady.I am using Jhora software and I am getting sagittarius as her lagna. So I am kinda lost with the chart now. I went through some of the earlier posts in the forum that explains combustion and its effects. I then found the following in a web page that explained the rule for combustion.Could you verify if it is correct? " When the Moon has no latitude (i.e., when it is at zero degree of latitude) it is visible when situated at a distance of 12 degrees from the Sun. Venus is visible when 9 degrees distant from the sun. The other planets taken in the order of decreasing sizes (viz., Jupiter, Mercury,Saturn and Mars) are visible when they are 9 degrees increased by twos (i.e., when they are 11, 13, 15 and 17 degrees) distant from the Sun. " The shadow planets/ nodes are not mentioned here. Does that say that they can't go combust? Regards, manasa
Guest guest
Dear Manasa, ///The shadow planets/ nodes are not mentioned here. Does that say that they can't go combust?/// A planet is said to be combust when it's no longer VISIBLE due to it's proximity to the Sun. The mathematical points we know as the nodes have no physical attributes that can be obscured by the Sun's rays...they cannot ever therefore be combust. What is there to be combust? What is there to have it's physical body obscured by the rays of the Sun? Guest guest
PS: Although the nodes are treated as planets in jyotish, it's important to remember that they have no physical form whatsoever. They are no more than mathematical points where the path of the Moon crosses the plane of the ecliptic. At this point there is some phenomenon, some ripple effect that has a very definate influence on whatever is within its range. However, the influence of this phenomenon is confined to that point...as Parashara tells us: http://jyotishvidya.com/ch34.htm 16. RAHU & KETU: Rahu and Ketu give predominently the effects as due to their conjunction with a house lord or as due to the house they occupy. - " Wendy Vasicek " <jyotishvidya <jyotish-vidya > Sunday, January 27, 2008 7:17 AM Re: Rule of combustion Dear Manasa, ///The shadow planets/ nodes are not mentioned here.
