Guest guest
Dear Manasa, Each of us possess a different degree of 'Free-will' power by birth. The degree dpends on our past karmas and the vasanas we carry forward from the earlier births. However, one can strive to improve this 'Free-will' by treading the spiritual path. This is my belief. I am not sure how to read this from one's chart. Probably Wendy might have some clues. Is it possible that one delineate the above from a persons natal chart? Regards, Manasa. Be a better friend, newshound, and know-it-all with Mobile. Try it now. Guest guest
Dear Manasa, We see both the conscious/unconscious mind from Moon which governs our mind and emotions. We experience mental activity i.e. thoughts, emotions (memories) etc after they have risen to the conscious level...beyond this we're not (generally) aware of them...this we call the subconscious mind. The experience of transcendence (beyond mind) belongs to the moksha houses. Guest guest
Dear All, While we are at the topic of Fate and Free will, does anyone know where do we draw the line between Fate and Freewill?? For example, in terms of marriage, how do we know whether we are fated to be with that person, or whether it is our Freewill that we marry the person we choose to marry? Anyone please help? Thanks Lovelin Wendy Vasicek <jyotishvidya jyotish-vidya Thursday, 14 February 2008 1:42:16 Re: Our Mind Dear Manasa, We see both the conscious/unconscio us mind from Moon which governs our mind and emotions. Guest guest
Dear Krishna and All, The entire life of an individual is predetermined at birth. One has freewill, but it can only be exercised within the confines of the karma reflected in horoscope. Some would say that nothing is predetermined; that our fate is due entirely to our own efforts...such natives will, undoubtedly, have a powerful 3rd house :-) Best Wishes, Mrs. Wendy http://JyotishVidya.com jyotish-vidya ___ - " Krishnamurthy Seetharama " <krishna_1998 <jyotish-vidya > Wednesday, February 13, 2008 10:52 PM Re: Our Mind Dear Manasa, Each of us possess a different degree of 'Free-will' power by birth. Guest guest
Dear wendyji, Thank you so much for the information. You wrote that Moon represents conscious/subconscious mind. So could I say that power of the mind over our deeds and its results could be assessed using moon chart?. What is the role of navamsa chart? Some say that fruits of your actions could be seen from navamsa. So is the navamsa chart linked to the fate one have? Regards, Manasa. Guest guest
Wendy ji, ///The experience of transcendence (beyond mind) belongs to the moksha houses./// This is an excellent observation! :-) I was just thinking--we need, at one level, to transcend the lower energies of the three Moksha houses in order to understand this. For instance, we have to transcend the concept of happiness [4th], agonies [8th] and sin [12th]. Interestingly, the 4th opposes the 10th [prestige], the 8th opposes the 2nd [wealth], and the 12th opposes the 6th [ability to rise above competitors]. We need to transcend prestige and wealth and give up on our urge to compete in the rat race to understand the moksha bhavas. As I read the line that you wrote above, this struck me suddenly. And just as suddenly, I realized why--my PD lord Sani is conjunct Moksha Karaka Ketu in star of Ketu. Of course, the house of conjunction is the 3rd, a trishadya--but the 3rd is the 12th from the 4th, the 4th from the 12th, and the 8th from the 8th--all Moksha houses! :-) ~~~~~~~~~ Balaji Narasimhan Author & Editor http://www.balaji.ind.in/ ~~~~~~~~~ ______________________________\ ____ Never miss a thing. Guest guest
Dear Lovelin, As per earlier mail, our level of (supposed) free will is in accordance with our karma. Generally speaking the degree of our own free will; own efforts and initiative is reflected in the horoscope...so that (even) that is predetermined :-) At the same time, there can be little doubt that we all are inter-connected and therefore influenced by those we have close ties with. It's a common saying that we're influenced by the company we keep...it's true! and important therefore to look for a spouse with a compatible horoscope...
