Guest guest
Dear learned Members, I am a student of Astrology. I have learned to cast a chart for a native as per directions given in Lahiri Ephemeris book. In the book it is mentioned that after calculating the ascendant one should subtract the Ayanamsha for the birth year. Now when I read further, I have found that each group as KP, western, etc. use different Ayanamsha. I have understood to a certain extent that this is because each of these group think that the fixed zodiac and the vernal equinox point were same as on 285 A.D.(Lahiri), and others have gone on to assume it to be 386 A.D. also the precision varies from 19 to 24 degrees. My doubt is if one has to cast a chart according to KP or others, what will be the method? I hope I have been able to get it across to you what my doubt is? Thanks Prabha
Guest guest
Dear Prabha, When you have learnt to cast the chart through Lahiris, then let us be faithful towards it for the time being till you realise the implications of the ayanamshas, and wish to make a change. For all practical purposes, the Lahiris ayanamsha is perfect for one to use.You would of course find the ayanamsha list for all the years, in the Tables of Ascendants published by the Lahiris, which book is to be kept till Life, with us. You must first concentrate on the method used by Lahiris, and not touch any other book or method, till you perfect the same, otherwise it would only lead to confusions and nothing else. In Lahiris books, there is no mention of Kp, therefore it is obvious that you have been reading other books. To become really good at the Mathematical part, fist cast at least 60-80 charts ( 1 per day) check your calculations through the PC Software, and then move to other methods. If you had been my student I would have asked you to prepare at least 365 charts, before moving to any other method, if you wish to attain mastery. best wishes on your path of studies, regards, Bhaskar. jyotish-vidya , " prabha.acharya " <prabha.acharya wrote: > > Dear learned Members, > I am a student of Astrology.
