Dear Respected members,

I am not sure if this is the correct forum for this subject, but I would be

interested to learn more if anybody can help please.

I went to Haridwar recently for the first time. I will be going back to

Haridwar and also to Gaya later this year, as my family will be doing Pind Puja

during Shraadha (sorry if these are described incorrectly).

Can any learned members give information about the Puja’s (or anything else)

that is recommended for us to perform please? I am trying to learn as much as I

can.

In Vedic Astrology, are there any indications in a persons chart regarding

their forefathers or the need to perform Pind Puja? I understand that we will

be praying for peace for the souls of our departed forefathers (please correct

me if I am wrong) - of course, this is the main reason why we will be performing

the Puja.

Also, I'm interested whether not performing Pind Puja causes general

misfortune/unhappiness/things such as delayed marriages for living family

members, as we were told this when we were in India. As a general point, if a

persons forefathers commit sins when they are living, does this have an effect

on their living family members? I assume it will also affect the deceased

forefathers new life when they are reincarnated? Sorry if these are basic

questions...

All of the children on our side of the family are in a delayed marriage

situation. Is there any Puja that is advisable for us to perform for this

please.

Many thanks in advance.

Best wishes,

Anita
