Thank You, Dear Ravindramani,

I certainly do agree with you and would love to contribute to this

thread! However I'm quite busy off-list at the moment and don't have time

right now...soon hopefully :-)

PS: Condolences to you and your family on the death of your Aunt.

Best Wishes,

Mrs. Wendy

This post is non-astrological. Kindly bear with me.

My father, at my home town, when try to pick up the newspaper from

the floor, lost his balance and fall down, around three years ago.

Immediately after the fall, he did not wish to go to the hospital for

the reasons best known to him. Suggestions from everybody fall in his

deaf ear. He was an astrologer but astrology was not his

profession. He was not able to stand, sit or move, he was lying on

the bed. The hip and the thigh went on swelling and the pain was

unbearable. His condition had been deteriorating. After two days, my

brothers on their own took him to the hospital, the doctors

pronounced that his right femur broken that needs immediate surgical

intervention. Keeping his blood pressure and his sugar levels in

view, doctors postponed the surgery for a week. Doctors were

assuring, after the surgery, he would even go for cycling.

I was intimated about the situation over telephone, instantaneously,

his chart flashed in my mind, he was under going the maraka period

which followed by another maraka and yet another maraka. I see the

dashas of my chart and my daughter's chart. Was that the one or the

subsequent one or the last one? The transits were in tact. I

perturbed. I traveled 2000 kms and stood in front of him. I am the

eldest son to him. I requested him to follow the suggestions of the

doctor and under go the surgery. He smiled and retorted, " are you

not capable enough to short list the marakas in a chart, and study

the transits, you people want to spend three lakhs rupees on me?,

now, leave me alone " .

In the evening, my mother asked me the same question, " will he

survive the surgery, tell me as an astrologer? I was kept mum. She

insisted to know ? I said, " he would survive the surgery and would

come home. " The surgery took place, transplantation was carried out

and he came home. I was with him for another three days. The fourth

day I was standing in front of him, asked his permission to come back

to Delhi. He told, " go and master the Karaka and Maraka

principles, " . My mother started weeping. I told her, don't bother,

nothing would happen - but in my mind, I was telling to me, there is

another four months, at the least, this is not the potential maraka.

I came to Delhi on Monday, I received the message the next day,

Father expired, catch the available flight and start immediately.

I still learning to pick up the potential maraka in a chart. It is

eluding me.

Regards, C.S. Ravindramani

PS: Three days ago, my aunt died. I did the academic exercise once

again in the week end, after the death, and every thing is crystal

clear. But I don't know why I am not able to find out the right

maraka before the crucial date.

Dear Ravindramani,

Thanks for sharing this with us. You are right. It is so difficult make that

judgment call while making a prediction, specially about longevity. However, it

looks so easy in a postmortem.

Regards,

Krishna
