Namaste Bharat Bhaiya,

I am not intending to step on anything personal here bharat bhaiya, merely

pointing out incorrect information on a subject that I know something about.

As for me consulting a gemologist: I am one !, and a 2nd generation at it

too. anyway's, I wrote earlier (and write this mail) not to prove that I am

better or you are but to ..

...to offer a suggestion that merely reading from a search from Google may

not yield understanding of subject. Quartzs and Quartzites are two distinct

things, and there is such as aventurine in feldspar form, also aventurine does

not have to green, in can be other colors also, infact the " bharat " variety of

green aventurine is infact not aventurine but green quartz.

A very senior member of the parampara, an authority on the subject of gems,

and much more to many more people around the world also attempted to explain

to you in gentle & better words, but you choose otherwise.

In any event, its all our karma. Lets close this, and with utmost respect;

Namaste

Gaurav

Dear Bharat,

Namaste

Click on the sub link you’ve given.

COMPOSITION & ENVIRONMENT:

Green Aventurine Quartz, is actually a quartzit, It is a rock, not a

mineral. It is composed essentially of interlocking macrocrystalline quartz

grains

and other color imparting minerals. Usually formed by metamorphism

(metamorphism is the alteration of a rock due to changes in heat, pressure or

chemical

environment.) When a quartz rich sedimentary deposit or a sandstone undergoes

metamorphism the original material alters to a compact rock. Composed of

interlocking quartz grains known as quartzite. Most of the aventurine quartz is

filled with tiny platelets of a green chromium mica, called fuchsite. Although

some aventurines contain different varieties of mica, hematite or other

sparkly inclusions. These colorful specks add sparkle and also create or help

create the body color of the aventurine they inhabit.

There is a marked difference between quartz and quartzite.

Let’s take Venus and Jupiter as the example. Both maybe Gurus but they do

their work very differently. Both an orange an an apple maybe fruits but both

of them give different benefits.

Love,

Swee

Further to my post:

I would like members to view the following links:

This will clearly show what I was mentioning.

Aventurine Feldsper is a synonym of Sunstone. It is by no means Green!

I have clearly mentioned in my first post that Aventurine is a green variety

of quartz. By the very color, the said gems dealer should have understood,

instead of making a case of it. I cannot help it if stones that are opaque

and yet work. If some people have a problem with the healing properties of

Opaque gemstones, then, they can take their case with the Lord Itself.

Thanks and Regards

Bharat

Before bringing the benefit of all members, it is better to consult a

gemologist.

Aventurine the word is used for Quartz.

Aventurine Feldsper is called Aventurine Feldsper - The word " Feldsper " is

always added to it.

I hope that you will use your time and effort in more purposeful

discoveries.

Thanks and Regards

Namaste Bharat Bhaiya et al,

I had been re-reading the interesting discussion under the above subject

for my knowledge. Therein, you mentioned and I quote " Only the green of quartz

family is considered Aventurine. The other gems have wrongly borrowed the

term. The deeper the green the better it is for the heart and communication,

even when opaque. "

To the benefit of all the members who my mistakenly take this for a fact,

and with all due respect if I may offer a correction to you, this is completely

untrue. Of Aventurine, it comes in three varieties: Feldspar ( the family

of moonstone, many may be surprised here), a naturally occurring glass

structure ( not to be mixed with aventurian glass or gold stone which is often

used

as an imitation replacement), and raw quartzite (most abundant and common).

This is also not to be mistaken as the prasiolite or " psiolite " or green

quartz that is used in ornamental jewelry, which is a far more refined and

crystallised form.

If I remember, Swee ji had written some excellent mails on it.
