Dear Anil,

You have cast your horoscope and are not sure what to do next...

***Begin at the 1st House***. The 1st House is the foundation of your

entire life.

Tell me the following:

1. What is your lagna (1st House Sign)? Who is the ruler of your Lagna

( " Lagnesh " )? What house is that planet occupying?

2. Who is the ruler of the House the Lagnesh occupies? Where is that

planet?

3. Are there any planets in your 1st House? If so, who are they, and

what houses do they own? How close are these planets to your ascendant

degree?

4. Are there any aspects on your 1st House and/or your lagnesh? If so

who are they from, and what houses do those planets own? Also, how

many degrees away from the degree of your ascendant are these

aspecting planets?

5. Repeat the above but replace the lagna with Chandra.

Frankly, this is the way to start reading any horoscope. Starting

elsewhere will lead to myopic interpretations. This is not just my

opinion. Learn this technique and apply it to all the horoscopes you

encounter.

Dear Anil,

You seem to have misunderstood my questions. Let me clarify.

>> 1. What is your lagna (1st House Sign)?

What is the SIGN ( " rashi " ) in your 1st House? Your answer should be

" aries " , or " taurus " or " gemini " etc.

>> Who is the ruler of your Lagna ( " Lagnesh " )?

Each sign is ruled by a specific planet. What is the planet which

rules the sign in your first house? That planet is called your

" lagnesh " or " ascendant ruler " . If you don't know what planets rule

what signs. Look at my articles on www.vedicastrologer.net, in the

first article about the signs.

>> What house is that planet occupying?

Now that you know your Ascendant Ruler, what house and sign is that

planet in?

>> 2. Who is the ruler of the House the Lagnesh occupies? Where is that

>> planet?

Who rules the house your Ascendant Ruler is in? What house and sign is

THAT planet in?

>> 3. Are there any planets in your 1st House? If so, who are they, and

>> what houses do they own? How close are these planets to your

>> ascendant

>> degree?

OK! You got this one right! =) There are no planets in your 1st House.

>> 4. Are there any aspects on your 1st House and/or your lagnesh? If so

>> who are they from, and what houses do those planets own? Also, how

>> many degrees away from the degree of your ascendant are these

>> aspecting planets?

Every REAL planet aspects the house 7 houses away from it. Thus a

planet in the 1st house aspects the 7th. A planet in the 2nd house

aspects the 8th, etc. In addition, Jupiter ALSO aspects the 5th and

9th houses from it. Saturn ALSO aspects the 4th and 10th houses from

it. And Mars ALSO aspects the 3rd and 8th houses from it. Now you can

answer this question.

>> 5. Repeat the above but replace the lagna with Chandra.

>

> Point 5 Why to repeate with Chandra?

Because the poisition of Chandra is your " second ascendant " - it is

called Chandra Lagna. Chandra is the location of your mind, and

therefore is as important as a second lagna.

Also....

> *HOUSES* *Planets* * * *10* Sun 1 *11* Moon, Merc, Ketu 2 *12*

> Venus,

> Satrun 3 *1* Lagan 4 *2* - 5 *3* Pluto 6 *4* Uranus 7 *5* Rahu,

> * - 9 *7* - 10 *8* - 11 *9* Jupit, Mars 12

Leave Uranus, Neptune and Pluto out of your thoughts on astrology.

You'll be better off. That is my opinion. You don't have to have it,

but I'm not going to teach or say anything about them and strongly

disagree with their use in Vedic OR western astrology.

Use this system when you write:

Planet 1 - House Number - Sign Name - Degree

Planet 2 - House Number - Sign Name - Degree

etc. through Planet 9.

Your turn.

Yours,

Vic DiCara / Vraja Kishor
