Dear Rohini,

Many thanks for that! As you say, the natal chart (basically) remains the

same with both times. What does change, however is the rising nakshatra

which I find quite interesting. One important fact we know about Maharishi

is that he would go into silence (seclusion) each year around Dec/Jan.

The time you've given shows Capricorn rising in nakshatra of Sun...a strong

reinforcement for that annual seclusion, wouldn't you say? Whereas the later

time shows lagna in Mars nakshatra...

Last month (Jan) it was announced that he was retreating into silence and

giving up control of the movement. Obviously he was then preparing for his

passing from this world... A work well done, a work completed. For many

years he'd worked 20hrs a day bringing transcendental meditation to the

world.

Over the years many (myself included, I'm sorry to say) had criticised the

rising cost of TM programs and the huge amount of money flowing into the

movement. But it takes a huge amount of money just to support/maintain the

'Mother Divine' program (http://motherdivine.org/) and the 'Purusha' program

(http://www.purusha.org/) as well as all the other programs he's implemented

to bring peace and harmony to the world. He's set up trusts to ensure these

are supported for all time to come. None of this could be done without huge

amounts of money.

Best Wishes,

Mrs. Wendy

I have the time as 7:18 AM (rest data same as you gave). This was

given by a jyotishi follower of Maharshi. Data Quality? No clue!

Dear Rohini,

///Sorry for my rant!///

Please indulge me with a little rant of my own :-)

///Perhaps some Teachers come to us to inculcate devotion in us but at

the same time leave that tiny window that can be opened and allow us

to choose if we are ready to make the right choice or wait some more!///

It's the fruition of karma that determines when/if we're ready for anything,

don't you agree :-)

///Ordinary humans begin judging this and that teacher through biography

and through different flavours of astrology and what not!///

Our karma, reflected in horoscope, dictates that we'll be drawn to the

teacher that is right for us...even those drawn to false teachers are simply

following their own karma...who can sit in judgement of this?

How that teacher comes to us may be through something we've read (a

biography perhaps), something on TV or just through word of

mouth...whatever! There can be many different ways that we might learn of

and be drawn to a particular teacher.

///Are we even equipped to do so? I often wonder!///

In what way equipped...?

I believe that reading the karma reflected in a horoscope should

never be judgemental...we, of all people, should know that everyone (saint

and sinner alike) is in the grip of his own karma...

Our wise teachers tell us that we're all influenced at every moment (either

positively or negatively) by our environment. We're taught that every

thought, word and action has a ripple effect that returns to us from every

corner of the cosmos; Because of this, we should take some care where we

place our attention. Far better, wouldn't you say, to have our awareness on

the lives (the teachings) of rishis and saints than to be overly attentive

of negativity...whether in a horoscope or anything else in our environment.

Having said that I am, of course, mindful of the fact that professional

astrologers, having taken upon themselves the task of reading for the

general public, cannot pick and choose what horoscope comes their way. This

is why it's so important, in my opinion, that someone wanting a personal

reading should approach a professional astrologer with the right attitude of

respect and humility, and with an appropriate offering...

Professional meaning a qualified astrologer who earns or supplements his

income by offering this service. Such professionals, I'm sure, would never

be found competing with each other on public forums.

We see all the time what happens when overly enthusiastic (but under

developed) jyotish devotees start giving readings on these forums.

Competition amongst them, spurred by the desire to build a reputation,

leads to unpleasant conflict and (public) brawling that diminishes the

respect due to all sincere jyotishi...

It really is quite shameful behaviour and no-one should have to witness it!!

PS: In my opinion, it would be missing the point entirely to focus on the

mundane when viewing the horoscope of an enlightened one...whoever that may

be!

Best Wishes,

Mrs. Wendy

Re: Fw: Maharishi in Heaven

Dear Wendy,

I am not by any stretch of anyone's imagination even close to

spiritual or any other label that removes any individual from the

tier of worldly and ordinary, and I am not being modest or

pretentiously modest, please trust me.

Jabalpore or Jabalpur is a wonderful place in Madhya Pradesh and it

has the 'Marble rocks' a heavenly sight indeed! From there arose two

Forces of Nature -- Rajaneesh and Mahesh Yogi. Rajneesh was a Jain

and Mahesh Yogi was a non-brahmin, In a sense both were not the usual

kind of Sages and Saints that India and Indians tended to assume and

expect!

Both were pioneers in more ways than one, as far as I am concerned!

They broke the norms, they were the Divine Wake-Up Calls that the

DIVINE reality sends us down to us human beings from time to time.

In their own and unique ways, both of them broke the mold/mould and

stirred and shook up the STATUS QUO!

Marble has something that has to do with the soul of India!

Shahjahan, a descendent of Persians who invaded and ruled India gave

India and the world, Taj Mahal which remains a wonder to be

experienced after all these decades and centuries! Yes there are all

kinds of gory stories and clouds around it, but the BEAUTY cannot be

denied!

If one looks closely a slab of pristine marbel, they will observe

that it is not uniform or uniformly beautiful but that it has BEAUTY

and CHARACTER! Each slab of Marbel is BEAUTIFUL, DISTINCT and thus

has CHARACTER!

Perhaps some Teachers come to us to inculcate devotion in us but at

the same time leave that tiny window that can be opened and allow us

to choose if we are ready to make the right choice or wait some more!

There is no right or wrong choice! Or the right time for that matter!

We humans may be in a hurry, but God shall wait, just like any loving

parent of a playful child waiting to pick him or her up after he is

done 'playing' knows!

Ordinary humans begin judging this and that teacher through biography

and through different flavours of astrology and what not! Are we even

equipped to do so? I often wonder!

Sorry for my rant!

Dear Wendy and Rohini,

Thank you both so much for sending in these times!

This is an intriguing point you've written below Wendy regarding the

nakshatra change... hmmmm ;-)

It's really great to have these times and much appreciated.

Kindest wishes,

Patrice
